With Sanders likely out of the picture, those who follow Republicanism now have to worry...

...about a wholesale "dump Trump" campaign by Republicans. Once primary season is over, that's where it's headed.

4. Your OP makes no sense. Sanders is likely to win it all. further, there is no

organized "Dump Trump" movement. Trump enjoys 90% of the GOP base support.

Swifty, you need to slow down and tell us what you are really saying.

8. Sanders has to get a majority of pledged delegates on the first ballot.

He's not going to do that with 26% of the vote that he got in IA and NH. It's basically over for him unless he changes his delegate share dramatically. The remaining candidates will, combined, have the majority of pledged delegates. That means a second ballot win for the so-called center/left at worst, even without the superdelegates.

Then, yeah, you're going to see vast numbers of Republican headliners in ads asking fellow Republicans to send Trump packing and Trumpism back into the cellar with the bugs.

Point: where are they now? This is the primary. This is the time to strike....

nope. Walsh dropped out -no support. People laughed at him at his campaign appearances.
Flake is out of a job. couldn't get reelected by his own constituents.
McCain is dead.
Romney is just not respected.
Collins and Murcowski both supported Trump in the shampeachment

looks to me like you are suffering from wishful thinking.

13. Hell, you'll see half a dozen of his former cabinet in the ads against Trump.

Then you'll have Romney, the Republican Party's 2008 Presidential candidate too. There will be no shortage. The primary season will be over, the Dem candidate will be way ahead in the polls, and Republicans will be wanting to try to rid themselves of Trump while keeping some power in the Senate.

Republicans are gonna be asking themselves how they ever got that messed up. Was it all a dream? Then most of them will forget Trump, forget voting for him, and try to find a substitute. But there's no other Trump out there. He's the only Trump, because no one worth more than a bag of dogshit wants to be Trump.

The democrat convention is in the middle of July, and may be a circus.
You really think that there will be a move to dump the GOP nominee before their August convention?
Just what procedure would be involved in that as the President will have secured the delegates needed?

7. I don't think the other posters realize that Sanders was all done from the start.

Regardless of what the polls say, or what the Dem voters think, we all know the DNC won't allow him to win. They'll change whatever rules are necessary, or simply ignore the existing ones in order to ensure that someone else is the nominee. They've even argued they can do this in their court filings.

But you still misunderstand the problem...

When the DNC fucks him out of the nomination, how many Sanders supporters, particularly those who weren't normal Dem voters, will show up and support the nominee? How many other Dem voters will fail to show up on election day because they think their own party is "sketchy as fuck".

It's not the "dump Trump" campaign that will be the issue, it's the "why the fuck does the DNC talk about how every vote counts, when they don't even care how their own people vote" people who don't turn out on election day.

33. Yeah...the majority of DNC corporate puppets.

Assisted the entire way by their corporate media cronies. This isn't speculation: we've been seeing it in action for weeks.

It's obvious what will happen: the DNC will have their thumb on the scales as much as possible so their preferred moderate corporatist will "win" the primary in a bunch of red states that they have zero chance in in the GE. Pissed-off leftists will stay home in just enough numbers to matter, and moderate independents, seeing another "business as usual" candidate from the Democrats and still mistrustful of the status quo, will vote for Trump again.

This sleazy strategy failed in 2016 with a "can't miss" candidate (lol...). What one earth makes anyone think it's going to work this round?

14. Let's put aside a moment the nonsense behind your Sanders claim

that's so fully worms the entire plot you planted this flag in is wiggling.

Instead let's go with the dump Trump section of this prediction. What series of events do you think is going to have to happen to bring this about? Trump is literally doing most of the things voters have been asking for for decades but the established politicians were terrified to tackle, and he is giving the entire Republican party all the cover in the world while doing so. Trump has made reelection campaigns throughout his party all the way down to dog catcher all but ensured if they just keep it going. While it is true that many Republicans aren't keen on Trump's form they are absolutely on board with the function and they know function is the part that helps them while the form issues are all on Trump. Aside from his tendency to attack the power of the Washington establishment itself, he is literally the perfect president for them at the moment. While that one detail may make some of them uncomfortable they know that he is temporary and they can always rebuild the power of Washington. So why would they turn on him now?

16. He's unworthy of the office and ruining the country.

Republicans are going to need to see a lot of their fellow Republicans explaining that to them. Romney, for example, might even speak at the Dem National Convention for all we know.

Trump has failed on all of his promises to the people who voted for him. He's gotten for Republicans far less than Jeb Bush would have. Jeb would have appointed a SCOTUS Justice to take the seat McConnell stole from Merrick Garland just as Trump did. Jeb would have appointed a second Justice too.

Immigration problems at the border are worse under Trump than when he took office. They would now be better under Jeb, because he wouldn't have stopped the programs that make Latin Americans more likely to stay at home.

The deficit would be lower under Jeb than Trump, and the tax cuts for the middle class higher.

Jeb would have tried to take down ObamaCare but would have kept coverage for those with preexisting conditions, unlike Trump (in violation of his campaign promises).

And on and on. Trump's success is all put in your head by Trump's big, lying mouth and a bunch of Fox News lying-ass jerks.

22. You do realize that Republican's don't share your agenda right?

Last edited Fri Feb 14, 2020, 11:40 AM - Edit history (1)

Based on their set of priorities Trump is the best thing to happen to the country since Reagan and some likely think he's even better.

You expect Romney to convince Republican's to turn on Trump? In what world? They view Romney the same way they viewed McCain as someone who has a beef with Trump because Trump wasn't nice to them and didn't do things their way. Romney is currently an outcast in his own party.

"Trump has failed on all of his promises to the people who voted for him."
They don't see it that way, they see someone fighting for and often Winning even with all the chips stacked against him on the issues they have been begging to get addressed for years. Particularly with immigration.

"He's gotten for Republicans far less than Jeb Bush would have"
Jeb would have built even an inch of wall? Jeb would have tossed NAFTA to the side and worked to get something more fair in place? Jeb would have used tarriffs to get China at least working in the direction of something resembling fair trade deals? Jeb would have gotten NATO members to start paying more even if not yet anywhere near their agreed upon share? Jeb would have stood behind our ally in the middle east and recognized the capital of their choosing on the land they control? Jeb would have picked justices who were originalist or would he have picked corporatist?

And arguably the most critical one of all, Jeb wouldn't have beaten her in the first place more or less brought the party along for the ride with him?

No one stole anything from Garland. You can't have something stolen from you to which you are not entitled.

Immigration problems are worse? Aside from wanting open borders, by what measure. Surely not by the enforcement of immigration laws. You are right though, Jeb would have continued paying extortion how sad he didn't get that chance.

There's zero reason to believe the deficit would be lower.

Don't confuse working to get rid of a bad solution as being against a small portion of what that solution was trying and failing to achieve.

Trump has literally the best record for presidents working to actually keep their promises and doing so under the most resistance of any president in modern times if not of all time. Now he isn't doing what you want, that's for sure but your agenda isn't the one he is trying to forward.
