Army won't investigate Vindman over impeachment testimony, top leader says

The Army will not investigate Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman, the former National Security Council staffer who testified in the president’s impeachment investigation, the service’s top civilian said Friday.

Army Secretary Ryan McCarthy made the announcement at an event just days after President Donald Trump said he imagined the military would “take a look at” whether Vindman should face disciplinary action for the “horrible things” he told House investigators about the president’s phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky last July.

McCarthy on Friday downplayed Vindman’s return to the Army, saying he simply returned to the service a few months earlier than planned and would have a “bridging assignment” for a couple of months in the Army’s headquarters office in Washington.

“Then he will be heading to a senior service college this summer. There’s no investigation into him,” McCarthy said at a National Press Club luncheon.

1. Clearest Article 88 I have ever seen

“Any commissioned officer who uses contemptuous words against the President, the Vice President, Congress, the Secretary of Defense, the Secretary of a military department, the Secretary of Transportation, or the Governor or legislature of any State, Territory, Commonwealth, or possession in which he is on duty or present shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.”

6. Contemptuous is the defining word, just testifying he thinks trump did wrong is not contempt

on·temp·tu·ous | kən-ˈtem(p)-chə-wəs , -chəs, -shwəs, -chü-əs
Definition of contemptuous
: manifesting, feeling, or expressing deep hatred or disapproval

17. His problem is in

the part where he advises them to ignore the President. That's both contempt and insubordination.

18. Telling people to ignore the CinC seems pretty contemptuous.

(1) That the accused was a commissioned officer of the United States armed forces;

(2) That the accused used certain words against an official or legislature named in the article;

(3) That by an act of the accused these words came to the knowledge of a person other than the accused; and

(4) That the words used were contemptuous, either in themselves or by virtue of the circumstances under which they were used.

If we were talking about a Democrat president the debate would have lasted this long.

15. Speaking of deep state

The so-called Alfalfa Club is a 107-year old, invitation-only club that bars the press from attendance... Fed Chair Powell is a member of that club. More on that shortly, but first some background.

https://wallstreetonparade.com/2020/02/fed-chair-powell-is-a-member-of-a-private-club-with-a-history-of-racism-and-sexism/

Powell knew that other tech and Wall Street billionaires were likely to be at that party, as well as members of the Trump crowd. Among the party attendees were: Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump; Trump adviser Kellyanne Conway; Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan and billionaire, Jamie Dimon; Goldman Sachs partner and member of its management committee,

Dina Powell, who served as the U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategy in the Trump administration. Ms. Powell attended with her husband, David McCormick, co-CEO of hedge fund Bridgewater Associates, one of the largest hedge funds in the world. Billionaire Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, was also in attendance.

Amazon and Microsoft are currently under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission for potentially violating antitrust law. JPMorgan Chase, which has previously pleaded guilty to three criminal felony counts, is currently under criminal investigation for running a racketeering enterprise out of its precious metals desk for years.

The Fed is a federal regulator of the largest bank holding companies in the U.S., which includes JPMorgan Chase. The Fed is also currently engaged in another massive bailout of Wall Street trading houses, for which it has yet to offer any meaningful explanation to Congress. (See Fed Repos Have Plowed $6.6 Trillion to Wall Street in Four Months; That’s 34% of Its Feeding Tube During Epic Financial Crash.)

Now that is the...well...call it what ever you want..
