Justice Department opens inquiry into FBI interview at heart of Flynn's guilty plea

WASHINGTON — The Department of Justice recently opened an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the FBI's interview of Michael Flynn while he was serving as President Donald Trump's national security adviser, according to two people familiar with the inquiry.

Flynn pleaded guilty to giving false statements to the FBI during that interview, but recently asked to withdraw that plea, further delaying his sentencing.

The inquiry into Flynn's FBI interview could be aimed at several former officials Trump has repeatedly criticized publicly, including former FBI Director James Comey and former Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, people familiar with the inquiry said. They also said it could be part of an effort to make a presidential pardon of Flynn more palatable.

Trump has not ruled out a pardon of Flynn, or Stone.

When asked Wednesday if he was considering a pardon of Stone, Trump said, "I don't want to say yet."

Stone doesn’t deserve a pardon but at the same time NOTHING he did was worth a 9 year sentence. Randy Credico laughed at Stone’s threat to steal his service dog.

Give him a couple years for blatantly lying to everyone. But 9 is ridiculous.

How many years does the Clinton Creature deserve?

5. His trial was tainted. One of the jurors said she didn't pay that much attention to politics in her

pre trial interview ....but it was later found that she is an active democrat operative.

7. Almost like the prosecution somehow planted her on the Jury.

Stone's attorneys should demand a retrial.
