Poll: Florida governor race a toss up

he Florida governor’s race — on pace to be 2014’s most expensive, grueling campaign — is a dead heat with six weeks until Election Day, according to a new poll out Wednesday.

Florida GOP Gov. Rick Scott and Democrat Charlie Crist are neck-and-neck in the new Quinnipiac University poll. Scott is at 44 percent among likely voters, the survey shows, compared with 42 percent for Crist and 8 percent for Libertarian Adrian Wyllie.

Scott has a slight edge over Crist among independents, 44 percent to 37 percent. And the gender gap tilts in his favor: He leads Crist by 8 points among men, 48 percent to 40 percent, offsetting Crist’s 2-point margin among female voters, 43-41.

Wyllie doesn’t seem to be hurting one candidate more than the other: Quinnipiac prompted Wyllie voters for their second choices, and a recalculated matchup showed Scott still maintaining his statistically insignificant, 2-point edge.

Florida voters have seen a tidal wave of campaign advertising — both positive and negative — and both major-party candidates are now underwater on favorability, the poll shows. Forty-two percent of likely voters have a favorable opinion of Scott, compared with 48 percent who view him unfavorably. Crist’s favorable/unfavorable rating is virtually identical: 41/49.

2. Generally speaking, I don't despise many politicians..

But I'll definitely make an exception for Scott the blatant thief !!...
How he managed to win last time around, speaks volumes about how elections can be bought these days!!
What really pisse me off, is that he used the money he STOLE from us to do it !!

4. Sadly this race is little more than two scumbags fighting it out.

They're both dirty as fuck, and both incompetent in my opinion. The only reason I'm voting for Rick Scott is because he'll protect my gun rights in all likelihood. Ol'Crist wants to infringe on them. So I'm voting for Scott.

We seriously need some better candidate.

6. Crist isn't really any better sad to say.

Plus Crist wants to put an Assault Weapons Ban in place, do away with concealed carry. I voted for Crist the first time and was not happy with him. Now all the dirty stuff that has come out isn't even better.

Florida being ruined is neither here nor there for me. Much of those claims are overblown from where I stand. We got hit by the recession and we're making a comeback. Our education budget took a hit and we lost Full Bright scholarships, but those are things later candidates can promises and make happen. Plus if Scott keeps mucking it up, it might convince the dems to run a better candidate that is not anti-gun.

When I look at Crist and Scott I see the same monster looking at mirror.

7. Oh, sure he isnt any better!! who are you trying to fool????

I live in FL and have been here for almost 2 decades!!! Youre a con in dem clothing!!! You would vote for an evil person who is hated even by his own party, rather than vote for Crist!!!

Do me a favour and stay away from me!!! I'm not interested in your ilk!!!

8. I guess he's more interested in keeping his...

phallic substitutes than not having a sorry assed thief in charge!!
If one decides on a vote because of gun rights issues only, there really isn't much sense in trying to rationally discuss anything with him...

10. It does appear that Crist has flip flopped on the gun control issue. However ...

I was unable to find any links that say he wants to do away with the Florida concealed carry law.
