Jonathon Capehart Come on. Bidens you aint black comment was clearly a joke.

I am laughing very hard at all of the threads on Biden and his bad joke. Thank you for the laughs. Meanwhile in the real world Biden still has the support of the African American community and everyone knows that trump is a racist who is supported by the KKK, David Duke and the idiots who marched in Virginia. Again keep up the good work. I am really enjoying the laughs at all of the threads on this board.

One of the reasons my relationship with Twitter is hate-love is because far too many people pop off about things without having read or listened to what they are commenting on in its entirety. Tweets become triggers for outrage that would be better directed at something worthy of opprobrium. If context is a victim of social media then it is downright murdered on Twitter.

I’m railing about this because of the 18-minute interview between former vice president Joe Biden and the Breakfast Club radio host Charlamagne tha God. What has been described as a “testy exchange” between the popular African American interviewer with 2.1 million Twitter followers and the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee was nothing of the sort.....

When heard in the context of the previous 17 minutes and 21 seconds, you know that Biden is joking around. Perhaps he got a little too comfortable talking to a community with which he has a strong relationship that spans decades. Add to that being the vice president to the nation’s first black president and you know his affinity with black folks runs deep.

Also, only the willfully obtuse could not see that Biden was nodding at the belief among an overwhelming majority of African Americans that President Trump and his policies are detrimental to the health, safety and well-being of the black community. Saying someone “you ain’t black” in this context is the equivalent of questioning my blackness back in March because I hadn’t seen the 1990 movie “House Party.” It’s more of an exasperated “Where’ve you been?!” as opposed to “You’ve been voted off the island.”

I look forward to Biden’s return to the Breakfast Club. Charlamagne will continue to press Biden on the crime bill and other issues facing African Americans. And Biden will have another opportunity to ask black people for their votes.

4. That non-scandal is so funny that it is sad

That non-scandal was pushed by trump supporters and some former Sanders supporters. I have really enjoyed laughing at how that bogus conspiracy theory fell apart

A trump donor who gave trump$55,000 signed on to represent this idiot to try to hurt Biden. After this idiot's story fell apart he had to resigned

24. Our fellow Americans... those who were the target of Biden's remarks...

seem to know that he wasn't "joking" around.

How long will it take before the Democrat Party realizes that they're backing a guaranteed loser in this year's presidential election?

Personally, I'm hoping that the realization will hit them on November 4th... and, they'll still wonder why they lost.

12. Charlamagne tha God defends Biden's support for black community

Again I am really enjoying laughing at the posts on this board about this failed joke. Thank you for the laughs. This failed joke will have zero effect on Biden's support from the African American community in the real world and will not help a racist like trump https://thehill.com/homenews/media/499234-charlamagne-tha-god-defends-bidens-support-for-black-community

Charlamagne tha God defended former Vice President Joe Biden's support for the black community following their Friday morning interview.

In an interview on Charlamagne's popular radio show, "The Breakfast Club," Biden said, "If you have a problem figuring out whether you're for me or for Trump, then you ain't black."

The quote generated much backlash against the presumptive Democratic nominee, prompting him to issue an apology Friday afternoon, saying, "I shouldn't have been such a wise guy. I shouldn't have been so cavalier."

Before Biden's apology, Charlamagne defended the former vice president in response to a request from Mediate:
"We have been loyal to Democrats for a long time, black people have invested a lot into that party and the return on investment has not been great," he wrote. "As Biden said in our brief interview when I asked him if Dems owe the black community, 'ABSOLUTELY' was his answer. So let's see what you got!!! Votes are Quid Pro Quo. You can't possibly want me to Fear Trump MORE than I want something for my people."

Charlamagne said during the interview following Biden's comment about black voters, "It don't have nothing to do with Trump. It has to do with the fact that I want something for my community."

15. Only the willfully obtuse will fail to acknowledge that

Capehart is a lying son of a bitch.Renrmber when he snd John Lewis stuck their heads out of the political septic tank and tried to destroy Sanders’ first campaign with their lies?

Yeah, I can see you being a Capehart fan.

****

Pundit Living With Clinton Staffer Smears Sanders

Also on Feb. 11, Capehart published a Washington Post column Stop sending around this photo of ‘Bernie Sanders,' citing Randy Ross, the widow of former Chicago student Bruce Rappaport, as saying her late husband was the man shown standing in a photo (below) that the Sanders' campaign had been using to illustrate the presidential candidate's commitment to civil rights.

Both Sanders and Clinton have refrained from comment, thereby standing above the battle.

But the controversy shows the deceptive tactics of candidate surrogates and media organizations in seeking a competitive edge for Clinton, the establishment candidate.

More dramatically, a much-honored photographer and civil rights figure, Danny Lyon, stepped forward to set the record straight.

*

Lewis, a congressman from Georgia first elected in 1986 following an earlier career as a preacher and SNCC civil rights activist, delivered his attack on Sanders in his preacher's voice with a tone recalled Martin Luther King's own tones and cadences.

The clear implication of the congressman's original, high-profile remarks with scorn for Sanders and enthusiasm for the Clintons was that they had stood with African-Americans in the dangerous times of civil rights struggles that included, for example, the 1965 "Bloody Sunday" march in Selma, Alabama when police savagely beat Lewis and other demonstrators, leading to national outrage and congressional passage of civil rights reform.

But Lewis had to concede later that he had treated Sanders unfairly in ignoring his demonstrated civil rights activism by getting arrested in 1962 during protest of his university's segregated housing practices and in journeying to Washington for the 1963 civil rights march, and that Lewis never met the Clintons until the 1970s. Hillary Clinton had in fact been a "Goldwater Girl" in high school supporting the 1964 presidential candidacy of Sen. Barry Goldwater of Arizona, who opposed 1960s civil rights legislation.

20. Of course it was a failed joke.

Racist jokes usually do fail. Like wearing blackface. Or comments about watermelon and fried chicken.

The Democrat Party has been the party of racism for over a century and a half. They can't be expected to suddenly turn on a dime.
