so I'm in dc for business. city looks like crap.

For the center of our government there are tons of homeless people sleeping on sidewalks and panhandling everywhere. Metro rail stations are about as bad as marta in atlanta with all the low life's accosting you as you enter. Christmas tree looked like Charlie browns. No cops except for around his excellencies crib. Monuments and mall area look like crap. Did see obama and his 30 car motorcade going out for lunch or golf or whatever.

God I can't wait to get home.

3. I remember it being much cleaner.

I've been coming here for years. Normally avoid the city as the stench of evil nauseates me but I did venture out today. Seemed sad, depressed and dirty compared to years ago.

Even the gmo protesters looked sad and frail.

2. Sad.

I haven't been there in over 40 years when we combined a trip there and colonial Williamsburg.

4. It's a shame that our nation's capitol city looks that way.

Watch your corn hole.

7. Lol you think I would stay overnight in that cesspool?

But I do appreciate you both looking out for me. I'm staying in college park, not many miscreants in this area. Mostly hipsters and drunk frat kids. And no visible homeless addicts like in dc.

10. Glad to hear you got away from those damn miscreants,

and homeless addicts, and jobless bums just laying on the sidewalk.
I know what you mean. They can really ruin a guy's day.

11. I loathe the day my kids want to visit the place. Thankfully I have family in Virginia where you can

slip in and out of the day.

16. yes, springtime.

Between the cherry blossoms and the haunting beauty of Arlington, it's all about what you chose to focus on.

8. One of the best days of my life was retiring and getting the hell out of there.

I seriously doubt that it has improved.

12. I used to have to go to DC often

for work. Mostly the Pentagon. The primary thing on my mind when I was there was how soon I could leave.

Back in '98 I was almost literally locked in the basement of the Pentagon for 9 weeks as part of a DoD special study group. I told my boss to never even THINK about doing that again.

13. Was in DC just before summer this year

and had a wonderful time with my daughter.

Home is where the heart is - or so I'm told.

Godspeed.

14. Is this sarcasm?

D.C. is one of my favorite cities. I liked it just as much when 41 and 43 were in office as I do under Obama. Post 9/11 isn't as great as before. The old FBI tour was badass, ended with a 10mm MP5 full-auto live fire demo.

You're a funny guy sarcasm or not.

17. You could leave right now!

Keep in mind DC is controlled by Congress. You're watching, up close and personal, what happens when a government abandons that idea of governing.
