1. That's amazing. Massachusetts is the only state I've ever driven through that

has signs at their state lines not welcoming one to the Bay State - like most states welcome signs do - but rather nasty displays both bragging about how tough their gun laws are and threatening visitors with arrest for the slightest infraction of them.

It really is offensive rudeness at the state line, and taxpayer-funded rudeness at that. On the other hand, the folks in Salem were extremely pleasant, and some even seemed quite eager to sign up for and wait out a slot.

Anyway, good for the citizens of Mass - now if those gun owners could just get their state to get in compliance with the 2nd amendment.

2. But...but... I heard the number of gun owners was going nowhere but down.

That's what the gun grabbers keep saying.

4. The PREDICTABLE unintended consequence of the fanatical quest of some...

...politicians to ban all guns that aren't in the hands of government agents.

5. Funny.

MA is truly the heart of darkness of gun laws. Archaic, absurd and uselessly restrictive.

MA is also occupied by the bluest blue liberals i've ever met. More and more of them slime their way across the NH border every year to my dismay.

To learn that in a state filled with liberals where you quite literally need to kiss the ring of your local chief to get permission to exercise a right had a massive uptake in gun purchases shows one thing: Clear motivation and drive.

These arent people who can go down to walmart and buy a gun on a whim. These people need to do absurd gymnastics such as:
-Take a specific course the state approved
-Do a live fire test at a specific location run by a specific set of people on a specific schedule
-Beg your chief for permission
-Wait months for an "interview" where your chief asks you stupid questions like "where do you think you will need a gun?"
-Subsequently wait months while the police station delays the simple process of approving a form

Then you get to do most of those steps again every few years.

If your town elects a new chief he may just decide he no longer wants you to have a LTC. If your town elects a moonbat he will restrict all permits to "target and sporting only" as if the 2A has anything to do with either of those activities.

Once you have your golden ticket, you then learn that MA has some absurd list of "approved guns" that has no actual basis in safety or grounding in reality. Want that target-specific .22 pistol that is useless for any crime? not on the list. Want that $4,000 1911 that no ganbanger could afford? Not on the list.

This entire ridiculous charade is wholly designed for one purpose: To deter law-abiding citizens from access to guns.

If in a place like this people are massively arming themselves, its time for people to wake up....its clear the people in MA are waking up.

6. As bad as the recent laws here in Colorado are, thus is a reminder it could be a *lot* worse.

7. So wait

You're saying that despite gun control laws that righties claim are a roadblock between citizens and their Constitutional rights - that more citizens are somehow exercising their Constitutional rights.

What's to spin ? This proves that Mass gun laws don't stop law abiding citizens from owning guns.

10. So if you needed a permit to purchase books, and the State only let you purchase books from an

approved list, and the permit could be revoked at the discretion of the authorities....

You'd be saying, "What roadblock between citizens and their Constitutional rights? Book sales are up...what are you complaining about? This proves that these laws don't stop law abiding citizens from owning books.".

12. Yes

The 2nd Amendment is not some special case. I support no laws or regulations that could not be equally reasonably applied to any of the other 9 Amendments.

14. Silly

What a silly spin to put on this.

If I force you to kneel and kiss my ring in order for me to sell you a piece of overpriced bread its pretty clear youre the type of person who'd be on their knees and thanking me for the opportunity to eat.

Not all of us support groveling before elected servants for the ability to exercise rights that are actually inherent in being a living human, not something that elected officials "allow" in the first place.

All those things have decreased, of course.
