How do you know if a rich person ought to pay more?

Is it just because they're rich? That's it?

What if their wealth was gained from the voluntary exchange of money for goods and services?

For that matter, how do you know a poor person ought to have more money?

What if their habits are destructive to themselves and/or others?

2. Equality means that everyone should be equal.

Why should liberals be penalized for spending their money on grass instead of investing it for retirement? Why should they make less money after graduating with a sociology degree than others do with their MBAs? It's all just so unfair.

5. Limousine liberals should pay more

and they should hand it over voluntarily without being asked. All of it, dammit.

8. So about 3 dozen out of a few million do not pay taxes

The rest are stuck with the highest corporate tax rate in the industrial world.

I was against croney capialism under Bush, and Clinton and Reagan and I am against it under Obama. Seems to have grown in his administration.

7. I think if we reformed our entitlement programs

this would be less of an issue. If we created work-fare programs where poor people were given jobs on farms where they produced food and were given health insurance and social security for retirement. I think there would be fewer issues with the idea of giving away free stuff.

Now there are lots of legitimately handicapped and disabled people who can't maintain a job and we should seek to maximize the value of these people as most could still work on a farm, if only part-time. Admittedly we would disemploy lots of migrants from Mexico and South America but that would be an acceptable casualty. In the rust belt and places like Detroit. We could put the free handout crowd to work tearing down buildings and restoring forests and pastures where once there was crumbling and worthless concrete.

Then we could put them to work while training them in various skills, restoring our infrastructure and roads, while also building massive solar and wind turbine arrays to power this country.

We need to get rid of public housing and get people back to the farms where they can earn minimum wage, be provided with housing on the farm, and get health insurance on Medicare. No more food stamps as well unless you are working on a farm or one of the public infrastructure projects. Get folks out of the self-imposed ghettos and get them working.

Put everyone on a ten percent tax rate and create a value added tax on all non-essentials (groceries, medicines and personal care items deemed as essentials unless it is make-up) while getting rid of tax refunds and tax loopholes. At least that's my idea.
