Trump (and others) are safe in Ohio

Yes, it is now legal to lie to voters in Ohio, not that the law ever stopped anyone before.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Candidates for public office in Ohio can lie and get away with it under a recent federal court ruling that struck down a state law banning false statements in campaigns, an attorney says.

Attorney Donald Brey, who has represented Republicans in cases before the Ohio Elections Commission, told The Columbus Dispatch his clients mostly tell the truth, but can legally lie as long as they don't defame anyone.

Stretching the truth, ignoring the facts, pandering to the base, and other nefarious act are also allowed.

12. So you are arguing that Republicans filed a lawsuit to support Hillary?

2. And here I thought that your post

would address the issue of "open carry" at the Republican convention.

I keep trying to picture how the secret service would try to respond to that.

It's not a clear or pretty picture.

3. The venue holding the convention doesnt allow weapons.

Its a private facility and allowed to make their own rules.
Unless you think its fine for the government to step in and FORCE them to allow weapons.
You've obviously signed that ridiculous "petition"

5. I have not signed that ridiculous petition.

That doesn't mean that I can't make fun of it, and of the hypocrisy it points out among Republicans.

6. How is it hypocritical? The rules are the rules. The GOP cant change them

The GOP doesnt have any right to try to force a private venue to go against their rules.
What WOULD be hypocritical would be for them to try to change the rules, because they always say private owners shouldnt be forced to do things they dont want to.

9. Ah but,

a large number of Republicans think that the rules shouldn't apply when they don't want them to apply, and have signed the ridiculous petition.

That makes them, and the Republican party that doesn't take them to task, hypocrites.

13. I listen fine, You're just ridiculous. The arena doesnt allow weapons,

end of story. Yes, it really is that simple. Republicans arent going to force a private business to change their rules because they cant anyway
Not to mention the Secret Service wont allow it either. candidates have to defer to them.
But you can enjoy the silliness if you like.

4. I am still hoping for open carry

at the convention. It could solve a lot of problems (not that I wish ill will on anyone.)

Actually, open carry would be the dumbest thing the Republicans have ever done.
