Bolton Blasts Obama’s Apology Tour: We Weren’t Just Killing People in Hiroshima, ‘We Were Defending

Our Country

SiriusXM host Stephen K. Bannon salutes former U.N. Ambassador John Boltonon Breitbart News Daily as the first to notice “the diss to Harry Truman” in Obama’s Hiroshima speech, particularly in his complaint that a “moral revolution” should have accompanied the scientific revolution that produced the atomic bomb.

Bolton said there was doubt the worldwide business and diplomatic communities received Obama’s message that the United States did not have the moral high ground over Japan when it bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

“He goes out of his way in the speech to say that mankind has engaged in wars for the entire existence of the species, so that everybody is equally guilty, all of the time, and we should just recognize that, and rise to his level, have that moral revolution. And, as he says, have an entirely different way of thinking about war,” Bolton said. “Well, that is the kind of ethereal, abstract, academic discussion that may warm people’s hearts, but it doesn’t protect the American people. It doesn’t protect our interests around the world.”

“Our media said Obama did not apologize in Hiroshima. It just shows how limited our media is, because they sat there, listening for him to say the words ‘I apologize.’ He didn’t say the words ‘I apologize’ in the entire Apology Tour for seven years,” Bolton pointed out. “I’m pretty sure he’s never actually said that. He’s much more sophisticated. I think the media know that. I think they’re just giving him a pass, as they so often do. But what he does is confess American error. We made this mistake, he said about Hiroshima. Death rained from the sky. As if we were just up there, saying anything we can do to kill people.”

“What we were doing was defending our country, which had been attacked in a completely unprovoked fashion. We were doing it, dropping the atomic bomb in particular, to save American lives. That was Truman’s decision. That was the morality of what he did. Not good enough for Mr. High-Minded Barack Obama,” said Bolton.

1. Fuck Bolton...

the entire US command-- MacArthur, Eisenhower, Marshall, Nimitz, and others I can't think of at the moment, were aghast at using the bomb on a civilian population. It's something we just don't do..." was the general attitude, reminding Truman how they regretted Dresden.

Recent thought is that Truman used it to scare the crap out of the Soviets and show them we meant business. Stalin didn't care enough about his people to care if we bombed them with that thing, but it would give him pause if we showed him we could be as brutal as he is, and with a bigger gun.

The Japanese were about to surrender if we just let them keep the Emperor and were exhausted and running out of material, so saving thousands of allied lives was simply anti-Communist bullshit.

10. Yet Macarthur and Hap Arnold Killed more in 1 Night over Tokyo than both A Bombs did

Ike sent the USAAF to assist the RAF in Bombing Dresden.

Ike also implemented JCS 1067 in Occupied Germany which starved civilians to death in 1945

The service chiefs were against the A Bomb after it made overnight all their forces, Ships, and Tanks, and 12 Million men obsolete overnight for full on war.

No Need for a Navy after Nagasaki was the thinking then. Just drop a Nuke....

Japan was never going to surrender- the idiots who believe that ignore the fanatical defense that Japanese forces gave across Asia and the Pacific. Hell the day Japan finally accepted surrender they attacked 2 US aircraft*. Japanese held out for decades fighting their little wars in the Philippines, Pelelieu, Indonesia, Malaysia, Guam etc.

The Japanese Soldier was a Fanatic, ruthlessly trained and taught from day one the Emperor was god and to die for him heavenly, to surrender brought shame on the soldiers family and ancestors.
The code of Bushido was ruthless is how it dealt with Enemy troops captured and their were standing orders in 1945 to execute ALL Allied POW's held in Japanese territory

11. The regressive ideology of the Democrat party has killed millions throughout history

Why anyone would think that them dropping two nuclear bombs to kill innocents was a shocker, or that they would try to rewrite their destructive and war criminal history today with an apology tour is interesting to study.

I think the better question we need to be asking our selves is who i Obama planning to attack next. Remember, after his last apology tour we started attacking innocent people that were standing up to his buddies in the Muslim brotherhood.

42. As usual you get it wrong (common failing for you)

Again Saddam was playing chicken and lost. the invasion would not have happened had he obeyed the UN Sec Council resolution.

Here, educate yourself -

FBI says Saddam's weapons bluff aimed at Iran
Saddam Hussein believed Iran was a significant threat to Iraq and left open the possibility that he had weapons of mass destruction rather than appear vulnerable, according to declassified FBI documents on interrogations of the former Iraqi leader.

"Hussein believed that Iraq could not appear weak to its enemies, especially Iran," FBI special agent George Piro wrote on notes of a conversation with Saddam in June 2004 about weapons of mass destruction.

He believed Iraq was being threatened by others in the region and must appear able to defend itself, the report said.

The FBI reports, released on Wednesday, said Saddam asserted that he was more concerned about Iran discovering Iraq's weaknesses and vulnerabilities than the repercussions of the United States for blocking the return of UN weapons inspectors who were searching for WMD.

33. Those 3 men did not survive

Prisoners on the march from Bataan to Camp O'Donnell, April 1942.(National Archives)

Left to Right: Pfc Samuel Stenzler, Pfc Frank Spear, Capt. James M Gallagher.

All three men perished during the war.

CAPT. Gallagher died shortly after the photo was taken on or about 9 April.

PFC. Stenzler died at Camp O'Donnell on 26 May 1942

PFC.Spear was executed at a camp in Japan in July 1945.

Samuel Stenzler was born in Tluste, Poland (then part of Austria) and immigrated to the United States as a child. He married and resided in San Antonio, Texas, applying for American citizenship in 1909. Stenzler registered for the draft in World War I, listing his occupation as "Soldier (Discharged)." After the death of his wife, he rejoined the United States Army on February 27, 1940, and was assigned to Company C, 31st Infantry Regiment of the Philippine Division, the premier American fighting unit in the Philippines.

The 31st Regiment fought in the Battles of Layac (January 6, 1942) and Abucay Hacienda (January 17-24, 1942). C Company renamed the Abucay battlefield "Dead Men's Hill" because of their losses and the high number of Japanese casualties. The 31st Infantry Regiment fought a delaying action through April 1942 but was short of food, ammunition, and reinforcements throughout the campaign; the unit never had more than 60% of its authorized strength available.

Company C surrendered on April 9, 1942 with the rest of the 31st Regiment when United States Army Major General Edward P. King capitulated the Bataan peninsula. Stenzler died at Camp O'Donnell on May 26, 1942, probably because of starvation, constant physical and mental abuse, and overwork, aged 47 years. His remains were repatriated and reburied at Long Island National Cemetery on October 18, 1949.
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=stenzler&GSiman=1&GScid=65121&GRid=64125136&

Frank Spear was born in Ledalis, Missouri. A Mormon, Spear enlisted on August 13, 1941 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and arrived in Manila aboard one of the last transports before the war began and was assigned to the Far East Air Force's 4th Chemical Company (Aviation).

When the 31st Infantry was depleted in combat, Spear and the rest of 4th Chemical were assigned to the regiment because they had infantry training. Spears served with I Company after the Battle of Abucay Hacienda. After surviving Camp O'Donnell, Spear was sent on the "hell ship" Taga Maru on September 20, 1943 to Niigata Camp 5-B, arriving in Osaka, Japan on October 5.

Camp Commandant Lt. Tetsutaro Kato personally executed Spear on July 9, 1945, after Spear became insane with hunger and attempted to escape several times. Spear was bayoneted several times in front of the whole camp.

James M. Gallagher was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and attended Georgetown University in the mid-thirties. He attended Reserve Officers Training while in college. After college he joined the United States Army. When he arrived in the Philippines, he was assigned as a training officer to the 33rd Infantry Regiment of the 31st Infantry Division of the Philippine Army.

Gallagher was killed the day this photo was taken or soon after.Gallagher was left off the official Prisoner of War rolls because he died on the Bataan Death March; his body was never recovered.
