Now that the sane among us agree...

that there's no chance of winning for him, I guess the next point we'll banter about will be how, and when, he "weasels out" of the race...
The next few weeks should be interesting here..!!!
And...once he does, how will the republicans choose his replacement..??
I'm not familiar with the protocol for such an instance..

1. I hope he stays in, although his meltdown is accelerating at a phenomenal pace

2. I hope to hell you are correct

while it looks like a Hillary win right now, there is a lot of time between now and November. The American electorate has a very short attention span and memory.

4. There are deadlines for candidates to make ballots

So Trump will still be voted for, even if he quits.

5. If Trump or Hillary were to drop out, or die, before the election.

My understanding is that the Republican or Democratic National committees would select the replacement. They are not obligated to select the runner-up from the primary. They are not even obligated to select someone that ran in the primaries.

6. Probably a hail mary pass to Mitt and Jeb. I read Hillary is leading in Utah, and that Mitt

may endorse Johnson (he already said if Weld were heading the ticket he would endorse the ticket

I figure

Hillary 55.9
Johnson/Weld 23
Trump 19.3
green 1
