9. Angus McFife!

Yeah, I know...power metal really turns the cheese factor up to 11. But this singer sure seems to be channeling the late Mr. Dio.

17. I have about the same reaction.

They're clearly having fun with it, too. The founder (the keyboard player) is the vocalist of Alestorm, which is, um..."pirate metal" with hilarious lyrics, mostly about drunkenness. Gloryhammer's lineup notes are funny:

Thomas Winkler – Vocals, Angus McFife, Crown Prince of Dundee, Heir to the Kingdom of Fife
Christopher Bowes – Keyboards, Zargothrax, Dark Sorcerer of Auchtermuchty
Paul Templing – Guitar, Ser Proletius, Grand Master of the Templar Knights of Crail
James Cartwright – Bass, HOOTSMAN, Barbarian Warrior of Unst
Ben Turk – Drums, Ralathor, the Mysterious Hermit of Cowdenbeath

Power metal in general is a genre that usually flirts with cheese (when not actually throwing it onto the bed and ravishing it). But with most metal subgenres wandering off into rather predictable, boring territory (and almost exclusively employing "cookie monster" vocals, which I only tolerate in Industrial), I find myself enjoying it a lot more often than I ever expected. Metal's not my main listening preference ...but I do enjoy the stuff.

12. Here's Clutch singing 'Willie Nelson' live!

Blackjack Booted Demons
Have Surrounded My Home
Got Dogs And 'Copters
And Keep Ringing My Phone
Well I Don't Know If I'm Coming Or Going
If It's Them Or Me
Oh, But One Things For Certain
Willie Nelson Only Smokes The Killer Weed
