Liberal locusts flee liberal strongholds to ruin other states.

Unfortunately these economic refugees will not change their voting patterns. So give it a few decades and they will have recreated the same environment that they just fled.

Taxpayers Fleeing Democrat-Run States for Republican Ones
In 2013, more than 200,000 people on net fled states with Democrat governors for ones run by Republicans, according to an analysis of newly released IRS data by Americans for Tax Reform.

"People move away from high tax states to low tax states. Every tax refugee is sending a powerful message to politicians," said ATR President Grover Norquist. "They are voting with their feet. Leaders in Texas and Florida are listening. New York and California are not."

Top 5 loser states for Democrat governors in 2013:
· New York (114,929 people with $5.7 billion in AGI)
· Illinois (68,943 people with $3.8 billion in AGI)
· California (47,458 people with 3.8 billion in AGI)
· Connecticut (14,453 people with $1.8 billion in AGI)
· Massachusetts (11,915 people with $1 billion in AGI)

2. two observations

First - calling liberals "locusts" is patently offensive. Of course you see those you disagree with as pests, insects, lower forms of life and what not. It's what conservatives do...vilify those who you disagree with.

Next - an observation on the piece you linked to. They're lumping in Massachusetts with CT, CA, etc. Thing is - when it comes to taxation at the state level - Mass has the sort of tax code that conservatives claim to want. At the state level, income tax is a flat 5.15%. There are certain capital gains taxed at a higher rate, sure. But since state taxes in Cali go as high as 12+% (for example) --- it seems the author is just trying to make a stretch to include another "liberal" state on the list to arrive at their own predetermined conclusion.

jumping on the leftist liberals next time (should be only a second or two) they compare Conservatives or moderate Democrat(ic)s to animals or lower life forms. If you fail to do so then I would strongly suggest you are being a hypocrite.

Locust is a perfect word for those people. They lay ruin to wherever they land and then move on. Lather, rinse, repeat. The grass is always greener -- at least until they get there, piss all over it and then move on.

13. love how you say I'm a hypocrite

if I don't come down on liberals who call conservatives names (or moderate Dems - as if you give a shit about moderate Dems)

AND THEN

double down on the locust reference.

You're a fine example of someone who thinks liberals shouldn't throw word bombs - yet you're throwing word bombs by the minute --- all while telling the other side to disarm.

But really - I don't care if you think I'm a hypocrite because honestly, I don't care what you think about me in the least.

24. oh I read your post

you start by saying I should be so harsh with those who refer to conservatives as "animals and other lower life forms", claiming I'm a hypocrite if I don't do so. With the inclusion of "leftist" tossed in the mix an odd combination of insult and plea for civility.

You then go own to expand on what I take exception to in the OP as far as comparing liberals to locusts. As I said, doubling down.

Perhaps you're the one who has comprehension issues. I clearly was replying to the content of your post. You may not like the reply, but it was in fact a reply in that I commented on topics and issues you presented previously.

And I see you wheeled out the term "deflection." This seems to be the right's new word game tactic 'round these parts. What ever someone says in reply to your crazy talk is "deflection."

16. actually its not

As a native to New England we pay the highest property taxes in the nation. You forget income tax is NOT the only fees we pay there are a WHOLE HOST of other nonsense taxes / fees we pay through the nose in this area. You only go so long losing more and more of your money and giving it to people that dont work becuase they arnt required to look for a job. Compounding the problem is far left liberals who demand more and more in property taxes to fund ridiculous positions in our local school systems like a full time pastry chef (from one of our recent town council meetings). Tax dollars are being misspent in all of these states.

They don't want it, nor do they need it. Texas does quite well without it, so why do the Lib states have it?

27. honestly don't know

but don't think our 5% is egregious.

And interestingly enough - our tax burden is Mass. isn't as high as the lore would lead one to believe. This source puts our overall tax burden at No. 40 in the nation to your 42. Mind you that source is the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation and it's 2002 so even I'm skeptical. Anytime I see that figure it usually lands in the mid 30s.

Regardless, we use the money to do things like regulate where fertilizer plants are located and pay people to inspect them to see if they may explode.

So I'm fine with it.

I actually know some people in CT and MA, along with NY, NH & RI who have either moved, in the process of moving, or plan to. All the ones I know run politically moderate to conservative.

7. In my field I speak with a lot of liberal Californians with money leaving the state to escape high

taxes, instate police check points all over the place searching for vegetables or illegals, yet if they did find an illegal they wouldn't deport them and god knows what they'd do to you if they found a vegetable.

Also mentioned is upcoming mandatory vaccinations for adults and constant attempts at more gun grabs. The newest recent complaint is that CA started something called title 24 climate zones and if you need to re roof your house the state forces you to comply with title 24 meaning you have to pay an extra 1000 to 5000 dollars to have green / cool materials added to the job.

If the upper middle class tax payers are fleeing, that tax burden will be shifted to the working poor middle class

11. Well there are quite a few dotting the Imperial Valley

and North County...

But, I doubt they are prevalent enough to be a driving force in migration. I gave up on Low Cal due to the insane gun policies and tax bullshit. I miss it nearly as much as West Texas. the South is great, but a solid working class Latino neighborhood is a great place to live and grow up, even for a Jewish guero.

17. WOW! Really! Every other WAY upper middle class person in CA must think exactly like you. Doing

a Google search I find a new station in Truckee CA (where my client is moving from) demanding to search vehicles for veggies, and all of the ones listed below, along with list of those searching for illegals INSIDE California border.

You must not get out much. I know you love paying taxes, so you should be really thrilled with the next hike you get to make up for those who are leaving.

21. Yep I used to live there. I was stating why my clients are leaving CA. The high taxes and the police

state, more regulation, mentality. You appreciate it, but not everyone likes excessive regulation, high taxes and being searched on their way home from work.

Check out the link below to see what my clients are leaving for. Also watch the video for another reason the wealthy client is leaving Truckee, again you may love being detained for search at a veggie check point on the way home from work, but some folks not so much.

Fleeing California

A hostile business climate sends more companies to friendlier states

More than a century ago, Roy Farmer, 20, went door-to-door in Los Angeles with his bags of home-roasted coffee beans. By the 1930s, Farmer Brothers was selling coffee to restaurants throughout the nation. Today the company employs 1,200 men and women and generates $200 million in annual sales to restaurants, convenience stores, hospitals, hotels and universities.

But after surviving depressions, recessions, earthquakes and wars, Farmer Brothers is leaving California, finally driven out by high taxes and oppressive regulations.

The company says it’s fleeing in search of a place where business is appreciated. Relocating its corporate headquarters and distribution facilities from to a friendlier location, Farmer Brothers expects to save $15 million a year. Company executives are looking at Dallas and Oklahoma City. The relocation will bear real consequences for California. Nearly 350 workers will lose their well-paying jobs in Los Angeles alone.

Farmer Brothers is following Toyota,

Anyone with more than a middling intellect would laugh at your conclusion of "Liberal locusts flee liberal strongholds to ruin other states", and to "give it a few decades and they will have recreated the same environment that they just fled".

The article only mentions that in 2013, more than 200,000 people on net fled states with Democrat governors for ones run by Republicans. It could well be that 175,000 of these folks were NOT "liberals". Do you see the problem here, Jack?

But please, tell the class how you deduce from this article that these folks were "liberals".

Go for it, Jack. I'm really interested in how you can spin this one! And for once, try some of that "logic and reason" stuff.
