Austin School district votes to rename Robert E. Lee Elementary School

Public votes to call it Donald J. Trump Elementary. Moonbat heads go 'splody!

In addition to Trump University, Donald Trump may now have an elementary school named after him in Austin, Texas if community members have their say.

Last month, the Austin Independent School District voted to rename Robert E. Lee Elementary School and asked the public for their input. Of the 228 names suggested, Donald J. Trump Elementary was at the top of the list with 45 nominations.

Many wanted to keep the name, and 47 nominations were for Robert E. Lee or slight variations. Some also suggested Leadership & Excellence in Education, which has the initials of LEE. Two nominations were made for The Elementary School Formerly Known as Robert E. Lee.

2. Just cannot grasp why so many hold onto this losing, inhumane regime so tightly. The Germans

correctly have apologized for their Nazi past.

And you do not see schools and roads and other public sites names for Adolph Hitler, Hermann Goering, Joseph Mengele, Adolf Eichmann, Heinrich Himmler.

So why all the Lees and Jacksons, and Davises and the other traitors?
Hoping to bring back the good old days - hoping to make Amerika great again?

3. Hitler was in the top ten for this one-

From the article:

The Adolf Hitler School for Friendship and Tolerance made the top 10 list with eight nominations. Other nominations focused on celebrities, such as John Cena and Kanye West, and dictators including Kim Il-Sung, Raul Castro, and Vladimir Ilyich Lenin.

5. How many

Jews did Jefferson Davis send to the gas chambers. How many Gypsies did Lee transport to Concentration camps. How many Einzatsgruppen did Jackson command. None of the Americans you listed were ever tried for treason, they are citizens of the United States, and two of them are considered Veterans of the United States Armed Services.

The only difference between the CSA & the Nazis was the Nazis actually put up a fight.

The only thing that matched their immorality was their cowardice.

24. Doubt you would find many Union soldiers or Officers

that would call Confederate soldiers cowards. Feel free to do so it boosts your ego, but the Union soldiers who actually faced those men, did hold them in some respect.

28. So long as they killed the slavery-defending and traitorous pieces of immoral shit

They can say whatever they like.

However, the fact is that throughout history there has been few if any rebellions with such well-defined borders, a functioning government, with such a large population and equivalent technology, that failed.

All a defending nation or a rebellion has to do to win is not pitifully beg for mercy.

The USA on the other hand, had to change the hearts and minds of an evil culture by beating the ever living fuck out of the sniveling pieces of trash.

Essentially the CSA got decency beaten into them.

23. Had their been 4 million blacks in Europe during the late 30s and early 40s

most would have been worked to death along side Russian pows, and the other conquered peoples of Europe in the Nazi war factories. Those blacks to old, to young, or infirm would have met their fate in places like Sobibor,
Treblinka, or Birkenau.

They committed treason to keep the institution of slavery and then they begged for mercy in only 4 years.

They proved their immorality, evil and cowardice in 4 short years.
None of those things are "honor"

8. The Confederacy existed for 4 years with Slavery 1861-1865

Slavery Existed for 89 years under the US Flag 1776-1865. The Last Slaves in New Jersey (that hotbed of the south) were freed in 1865. Funny the LW tries so desperately to ignore that fact

The Slaves were brought to ''Amerika'' not under a Confederate Flag but under British & US flags, and by Ships owned and crewed by Northern Yankees who made money off each slave ripped from their homes. for 81 years those slaves were treated as as scum by the USA. Yet the LW refuses to comment on that nor call the USA traitors, or racists in their feebly impotent rage at the confederacy. The LWNJ set attempts as impotently to place all blame for slavery on a Confederacy that inherited the system from our founding fathers and the United States of America ....

According to US law Lee, Jackson, Davis etc did not commit treason no matter how much the LW today mewls and stamps it's feet (which in itself amuses no end).

16. seem to remember all sorts of compromises in the 1776 convention

on the slavery issue
which was put off and put off until it finally erupted in 1860.
the truth is the northerners were no less racist than the south as was exhibited by many instances of "white flight" during the "great migration". frankly i find their moralizing to have been somewhat hypocritical considering how they treated the irish first in the factories and then as cannonfodder during the war.

not to make excuses for the insitution of slavery which was racist, morally reprehensible, and which we're much better w/o. but i have a hard time believing it would've died out on it's own without the industrial revolution to urge things along as it did. it wasn't abt race so much as bottom lines and in the late 19th century the plantation model was no longer economically viable.

21. Let's just see what the CSA has to say about it

"A geographical line has been drawn across the Union, and all the States north of that line have united in the election of a man to the high office of President of the United States, whose opinions and purposes are hostile to slavery."-Declaration of Causes of Secession

Your hatred of the United States doesn't change the facts.
Your bizarre love of objectively evil and cowardly traitors doesn't change the facts.

Your heroes were evil filth that got decency slapped into them by their betters.

22. Lets see what FACTS have to say

Slavery under the United States of America? 1776-1865
Slavery under the Confederate States of America? 1861-1865

Hmm using your math skills which country had slavery longer?

I don't hate the USA unlike you hate everyone from the South. I served 27 years for this nation. For ALL the people of it, LW/RW, Black/White/Hispanic, Northerner/Southerner Easterner/Westerner. I have found little difference in people.

I've seen White racists and Black racists, GOP racists and Democrat racists

I merely point out your incredible hypocrisy in not admitting Slavery Existed far longer under a US Flag than a Confederate one.

You seem Obsessed to hate all people from the south and even more obsessed to not admit Slavery was under the USA far Longer than the CSA

Whats more amusing is you saying the CSA were cowards? They rose against the Government and fought for 4 years against far larger numbers, and inflicted horrendous casualties on the far larger ''enemy"

Most normal people would not say that is cowardice

The southern states.

The rest of the nation (the more decent parts) weren't such immoral pieces of shit and didn't get the fuck knocked out of them.

"much larger numbers"
Vietnam and Finland faced "much larger numbers".
The filthy cowards of the CSA merely faced "much more moral"

10. Your ignorance is showing.

Robert E Lee is an American hero. He would be remembered even if the Civil War were never fought. He was the engineer in charge of the first bridge constructed across the Mississippi. That was just one of the major projects he was he was entrusted with during his career.

He was the foremost educator of his time, it makes since schools would be named after him. His educational reforms that he started as superintendent at West Point and later refined as president at Washington and Lee college were the model successfully used for over 100 years at schools and institutions across the world.

His exploits during the Vera Cruz - Mexico City campaign place him among the great action heroes of American history, right up there with Daniel Boone, Stephen Decatur, John Sevier, Alvin York, and Audie Murphy among others. His actions at the Battle of Cerro Gordo and the Battle of Contreras were critical contributions to American victories in these battles. The citations by his commanding officer, General Winfield Scott, bear this out, as well his brevet promotions.

Given all that why wouldn't the man have schools named after him?

From the Declaration of Causes of Secession;
"A geographical line has been drawn across the Union, and all the States north of that line have united in the election of a man to the high office of President of the United States, whose opinions and purposes are hostile to slavery."

That's who he chose to commit treason to the USA, fight & lose for.

He stood for the most objectively evil purpose and organization in history.

i remember from my history that he was actually an okay guy. a pretty standup dude actually. had no real attachment to the cause except that he was born and bred in virginia and felt dutybound to protect his homeland.

i figure the war was probably about slavery but also about other things but mostly about slavery. i get why ppl think the flag is a symbol of hate. no need to take it out on bobby lee tho.
