Best science fiction film of the year (2003): "X2"

Another superhero flick is the winner....beginning of a trend? In any case, another weak year overall. "The Core" is a fun "B" flick as long as you don't take it seriously. Two "Matrix" sequels (meh), and the third "Terminator" movie (more "meh") are the films of note.

"X2" is a really good film, superior to the first "X-Men" movie. Ian McKellen is outstanding, Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman put in their usual superior performances, and Halle Berry is very pretty.
