Best science fiction film of the year (2004): "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"

First, the competition:. "The Day After Tomorrow" was climactic disaster silly science, and "I, Robot" had little to do with Asimov. Honorable mention goes to "Spider-Man 2", an excellent sequel (having a much better villain this time helped).

The winner, "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", stars Jim Carrey in what is almost certainly the highlight of his career. The film is considered by many critics one of the finest films of the first decade of the 21st Century.

1. Missed that one completely.

Maybe, I was asleep in 2004.

2. That movie never struck me as a science fiction movie.

More like a romcom with a slightly science-ish premise.
