2. No gumbo... just a boil

Did happen to find some crab legs on sale though! We'll toss those in as well!

3. my favorite part is the vegetables thrown into the pot

little potatoes, corn on cob, garlic, artichokes, etc boiled in with the spicy goodness.

where you live, stars? it is a beautiful afternoon here in new orleans.

5. I'm in Texas.

We threw some mushrooms and whole garlic pods in along with the regular potatoes and corn on the cob... we also boiled a side of peanuts in our swamp sauce! It was fantastic!

It was a beautiful day here, 80 degrees with a nice wind. Lot's of shade trees to keep is comfortable. Love me some mud bugs and a good old fashioned BOIL!

6. Toss in a few andouille sausage links, next time.

If you're in a part of Texas where crawfish boils take place, you can probably find andouille at the grocery stores. If not, other kinds of Polish-style sausage are suitable substitutes.

Enjoy your Mud Bugs. That's some good eating---with a whole lot of beer to go with it, of course.
