OMG! Kids! Having fun! OMG! Why Kids Should Never Play With Water Guns. Period.

https://www.popsugar.com/moms/Why-Kids-Shouldnt-Play-Water-Guns-43546916

My mom was pretty relaxed during our childhood and only had a few nonnegotiable, never evergoing to change, concrete rules. Her biggest: no water guns. … We didn’t have a gun in our home, but I think my mom’s passionate stance on water guns is even more important for those who do. … Even if they’re colorful and super cool, kids shouldn’t be playing with water guns because it normalizes the real thing. Kids need to learn that guns aren’t toys. There’s nothing fun or playful about this serious topic and it doesn’t matter if it’s a water pistol or a semi-automatic rifle — a firearm isn’t a laughing matter.”

3. Juan i love kids, i teach them to hunt and fish and trap with the parents permission of course

in my opinion and the opinion of the parents it keeps them off the streets and out of trouble,Yesterday they had a ball, the only drawback is the well.

15. LOL I knew you were teasing,

I live out side of Illion in NY, the folks up here are hard pressed to say the least so I make time and a few bucks to put a smile on those little faces, there is not enough money on the planet that could replace the joy I get from it.

6. Guilty your honor

bought them for my kids and just like their dad they decided to enter military service and serve the needs of the nation...

Damn water guns...teaching them that having fun in the summer can lead to serving your nation for 6-12 years or more.

We are such a bunch of fucking whiny little babies these days it's amazing we can even wipe our own asses without permission.

12. Hell's bells, I fired a Ruger Blackhawk .357 magnum on stage (with blanks, of course) for my high

school's production of "Oklahoma!".

With the permission of the director.

It was 1980, mind you. Trying that today would play out slightly differently, I suspect.

14. I was the official "armorer" in high school too

We did 2 plays that called for "guns". The Caine Munity, where the guard had my Crossman BB gun in a USGI holster.

Also did a Agatha Christie play where we used the track teams blank pistol. I had to keep both in my locker at school. Can you imagine the panic today.....hell, the track team coach had to get the blank gun from me one weekend since the one he was using for practice crapped out on him

20. Same here in Illinois in the '60's

Not unusual to see 4 or 5 shotguns, actions open, leaning against the Principal's outer office wall during Pheasant and Rabbit season.

Hunted the cut over fields on the way in in the AM and on the way home.

so we could go hunting after school, and as you say it would be different in todays world.

Dad thought it blurred the line between a gun and a toy.

23. I can't

believe that as a child they never made something into a gun.

I used sticks, built them out of Lego, used anything available heck even used my fingers. Never made me want to go out and really shoot anyone.

25. That's terrible.

These little children being inculcated into the rape culture of white male patriarchy and violence. Obviously these children need to be taken and raised the the state.

Given enough time and effort in 25 years he could become a free range tofu eating, onesie wearing, Prius driving, Bernie voting, unemployed, liberal arts major, who lives at home and attends protests to extend from 26 years old to 40 years old the Obamacare benefits for children.

26. idiocy.

Guns aren't toys..
That's true. .

Toy guns aren't guns, they are toys.

If your little kid isn't smart enough to realize that squirting someone with a toy water gun is different than shooting them with a real gun, you probably aren't a very good fucking parent and shouldn't have kids to begin with.
It's also a good thing you don't have real guns in the house.
