4. I've gotten two of those calls.

The # showed up on my caller ID, and I passed it on to the FBI.

6. Sadly it probably won't help

The CallerID is usually spoofed.

I once got a telemarketing call that claimed it came from my own number!

7. Wait till you get a certified letter. Don't trust either emails nor phone calls. Could also be state

withholding - you won't know until you get letter ... then you only have a few weeks or less to cough it up. So if you think you owe ... nows the time to squirrel it away.

The most important thing is just call them. They will demand it, but as long as your 'acting in good faith' - legal term, they will often work w/ you.

If amnt is under 1K, it costs them almost as much to collect ...

good luck !

8. Naa, it's a scam. Four calls to my cell phone today. I get a couple every year. What I've done is...

... save the nunber(s) to my phone contact list under "scam" or "spam" or "unknown" and if the same number calls again I don't need to take the time to research it again...

10. I've started getting texts claiming to be in reply to my requests for help w/IRS

They call me Ryan.

Thing is, I have ads right now in Uncle Henry's trying to sell some large items to make space. So I keep reading the darn things. Pisses me off to waste my minutes, even tho I have plenty of spare minutes. I guess what really pisses me off is they aren't in the market for a large bird cage on wheels, or an antique sewing machine in cabinet, or a Westerly Guild guitar in mint condition.

11. Call them and ask for Agent Amanda Jones. Once you get in touch with a female "agent..."

Ask her what she's wearing.

12. I have a number blocker

attached to my phone, so all it takes is a peek at the number and if I don't know it or it comes up caller unknown, one press on the big red button and poof....disconnected.

That doesn't stop them from calling from new numbers, though.

Every so often I get this really perverse urge to answer the phone with this greeting: "Good morning/afternoon, Twinklefairy Dildo Factory, how can I help you?"

Or maybe even try to order a pizza, as if I had called them. Then argue with them when they say they called me.

One of these days, maybe.

14. Our County Sheriff got one of those calls

saying that if he didn't send them a pre-paid credit card, he would be turned over to the Sheriff!

15. Hahahaha!!!

That's something I would pay to see...

He gets sent to his own house...knocks on the door and opens it, then goes inside and pretends to be himself all outraged over the intrusion. Then goes back outside and issues an arrest warrant for himself. His other self resists...there's a struggle...
