Selective outrage

I don't like these sorts of images regardless of the source or who the perpetrators are.

1. Nonsense! Thats just Modern Communist/Leftist/Democrat "Art".

We all know how edgy and "artsy fartsy" those silly "progressives" can be!

2. I hate the portrait

It was painted to celebrate the artist and not the subject.
And the Judith/Holofernes painting is just revenge fantasy, removed from all the context that makes it tell a story. In fact, that absence of context makes the painting illustrate an entirely different story.

3. I see plenty of context-free posting around the internet.

This joint has some especially egregious posters who not only use spurious sources, but they will employ any argument to support the Trumpasaurus no matter how ridiculous or downright dishonest it may be.

Yes, a painting, like a photograph, captures a point in time. It does not convey the story any more than a book title reveals the contents written therein.

12. I cannot help but wonder if the artist titled his work "Judith and Holofernes" to abstractly chide

beheading would be more acceptable if given a Biblical veneer.

4. It's always ok when the people getting their heads cut off are white. A white cutting off a black

head would be considered hateful and racist.

8. Maybe the artist was just being a shitlord?

Can we really call everything racism?

9. Lots of beheading in history

But it's this harmless little painting that inspires outrage. Klan-hooded idiots waving Confederate flags and torches in the streets are A-OK. Righties are a weird flock.

11. Well, I much prefer them

to Antifa idiots roaming the streets doing damage to buildings, looting and committing arson.

16. "Women"?

A single female Antifa protester is killed so that excuses hundreds, or thousands, of anarchists causing millions of dollars worth of damage, setting fires, looting businesses?
We disagree.

17. He drove into a crowd....

5 people were critically injured, 4 were seriously injured.... I don't give a shit about ANTIFA. I don't think breaking glass compares to ramming a car in to crowd at high speed and murdering a woman. Unite the Right, led to a woman's death.

Is one of seven that appears in the Catholic Bible, but not the King James Version.

14. It also appears in

Jewish scriptures, and almost any other version of "the Bible" that you would care to name.
