Demos continue waging Total War on Christmas

https://www.bizpacreview.com/2018/12/05/principal-bans-red-green-and-everything-christmas-before-liberty-counsel-steps-in-to-put-her-in-check-699709

Man, is there anything good and decent these people don't try to ban?

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Principal bans red, green and everything Christmas

And you thought the “War on Christmas” was over — where’s Bill O’Reilly when you need him?

In the name of inclusivity, a Nebraska elementary school principal banned Santa Clause from the classroom. In fact, doing her best Ebenezer Scrooge impersonation, she went so far as to ban Christmas altogether.

In a directive to teachers, Manchester Elementary School Principal Jennifer Sinclair effectively censored all Christmas holiday symbols, according to Liberty Counsel.

“e are not to be doing any Christmas or holiday-specific themed activities with students. Santa and Christmas items are not to be on activities or copies,” Sinclair instructed, saying because of varying religious beliefs, they must be “inclusive.”.....

…..Christmas trees were banned in the classroom, as was playing Christmas music and singing Christmas Carols. Showing Christmas movies was out and making Christmas ornaments as a gift was not allowed.

Even Elf on the Shelf didn’t make the cut, nor did Rudolph — yes, she nixed reindeer.

The colors red and green were not allowed, and candy canes were banned — Liberty Counsel explained, “Historically, the shape is a ‘J’ for Jesus. The red is for the blood of Christ, and the white is a symbol of his resurrection.”

Sinclair’s “acceptable” list included “snowmen, snow women, snow people” and even “snowflakes” — not the liberal variety.

Gingerbread people also made the cut, as did polar bears, penguins, and Yetis and Olaf, the snowman from the movie “Frozen.”

Oh, and hot chocolate was allowed, along with “scarves, boots, earmuffs, and hats” — it is Nebraska after all......

.....“The ban violates the U.S. Constitution by showing hostility toward Christianity,” LC attorney Robert Mast wrote. “The principal appears to have conflated her own values and preferences with the law.”

The district “investigated” the matter and “determined that Principal Sinclair’s memorandum did not comply with Board Policy.”

“We are pleased that Elkhorn Public Schools promptly reversed Principal Jennifer Sinclair’s unconstitutional directive, and required compliance with the Constitution,” said Mat Staver, Founder, and Chairman of Liberty Counsel.

“The First Amendment does not require the elimination of Christmas,” Staver continued. Nothing prohibits public schools from teaching objectively about Christmas or other holidays with religious significance, from displaying religious and secular Christmas symbols side-by-side or singing sacred and secular Christmas songs together.”

He went on to say that Sinclair’s directive “was not based on ignorance of the law but hatred toward Christianity and Christmas. Principal Sinclair should issue an apology to her teachers and staff.”.....

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Of course it was based upon hatred towards Chistianity, no other reason. This is why these people need kept out of positions of power.

1. I remember glueing dried macaroni onto a cardboard cutout of a Christmas tree.

We arranged the macaroni like garland then spray painted the whole thing gold. We punched a hole in the top and tied a yarn loop for hanging. Pretty sure I was in 4th grade at the time. We brought them home to our parents.

That thing hung on the tree for almost two decades. Long after the macaroni starting falling off. Every time I saw it it reminded of being a child.

It’s sad that today’s kids won’t get to have a memory like that.

It claims a truth that it cannot prove.
And a willingness to kill and torture fort their God and in the name of keeping that power.

23. Take a drive around.

All the decorations and every store playing Xmas music. Nobody is trying.to ban Xmas.
Some people have to realize that we live in a diverse society. Where not everyone celebrates Xmas and if some principal somewhere doesn't want to decorate the public school for Xmas that's one decision made by one person.
The radio stations that banned the song made their own decision too.
That doesn't constitute a war.
It simply doesn't. The Christian right love to play the victim. Even during the happiest time of the year for them.

Now, do I think it's stupid to complain about a cross on a tree on city property at Xmas time? Yes. Who cares, but all it takes is 1 and if the ACLU gets involved they just take it down rather than spend the money fighting it.
That's not a war on Xmas. That's the constitution.

From freely exercising their religion on their own time or on their own property.
Tax funded property is off-limits. There is no way around it and the government can't "freely exercise a religion".
If Muslims somehow got control and wanted to start using government property to endorse their religion, the Christians would be the first ones complaining about it and calling the ACLU.

35. No, prohibiting pseudo-nativity scenes does not equate to secularism

and no one is standing in the way of the free expression of Christian or any other voodoo ( H.W.) on private property. Just can’t do it on public property.

There was a thread recently on the author’s original intent with regards to birth citizenship (some guy from Michigan). The letters of the thought leaders of the founding fathers clearly indicate their intent in regards to a “wall separating church and state.”

And it’s cute that you “chose them to be the losers.” That and £2.45 will get you a Grande Latte in a red cup at Starbucks.

“wall separating church and state.”

No such phrase exists in the Constitution. It comes from Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptist church and in context it refers to protecting the church from the encroachments of government.

39. No, no preference is not a preference

That’s a bit like saying abstinence is a sexual position.

It is saying that competing preferences have no precedence. Therefore, the government, as mandated in the First Amendment, cannot impose a preference. That can play out in two ways. The first is to permit all religions to display their wares in the public square, from Paganism to Satanism to Islam to Christianity. The other is to prohibit any religion in the public square. The latter is much easier and more consistent with the wording.

Got that £2.45 yet? Because no one cares what you “chose to call a loser.”

If presidents want to celebrate Xmas. . They are allowed.
If people want to pray, they are allowed.
Easter egg hunt and all that isn't practicing a religion. What religion is the Easter bunny? Shouldn't they have Jesus there coming out of a tomb or something?
You have the institution of a government confused with people.
Decorating the white house with pagan symbolism isn't establishing a religion either. If an atheist was president you couldn't force him to do any of those things.

You don't get it, that's fine.

"Decorating the white house with pagan symbolism isn't establishing a religion either."

This is where you betray yourself. You'll go on at length about Christian symbols but you'll make this non-excuse about pagan symbols.

Your response also ignored the military chaplains, religious symbols for grave markers and the National Cathedral instituted by Congress.

All of those require not only government authorization but ongoing government monetary expenditures.

You are grossly mischaracterizing what the Constitution requires.
