"Bird Box" review

Was thinking about watching this movie starring Sandra Bullock but countless times find myself turning a movie off because of the left wing talking points peppered throughout. So this guy reviews the movie and so I dont have to waste my time:

1. it seems the Lefty is setting the stage for a bloody Stalinist purge

with all their racism out in the open, with all the hate...it sure seems to be what they want.

2. Thanks for sparing me this ridiculousness.

I thoroughly enjoyed the review too.

3. I saw it. It wasnt terrible. It was a little predictable, once the premise

Was established. It wanted to be a suspense movie, but fell a little short. The politics was noticeable, but not overwhelming unless you’re watching it specifically looking for politics. Acting was pretty good, even if the story was a little weak. I wouldn’t go out of my way to recommend it to anyone, but it wasn’t awful.

Having now watched the review (I wrote the above part before watching the OP video) it looks like this guy watched the whole movie through a political lense. If you’re the sort of person who does that, you’re going to hate this.

4. Sometimes it seems there are equal #s of people on both sides who eat sleep and breathe politics.

5. I watched this 2 weeks ago - rated it Fair on my own scale .

I'll admit, I'm a Sandra Bullock fan, and also of plots that involve dystopian themes . . .

I would recommend it to anyone who has an interest/concern in the possible extinction of mankind.

Avoiding the presence of political overtones in ANYTHING nowadays is pretty difficult, what with the present global tensions . . .

(sigh)

10. I understand. It can make it difficult to enjoy a lot of entertainment,

If you find yourself constantly looking for the subtle (or not-so-subtle) political subtext. And once you’re sort of “in that mode”, you can’t just turn it off. I imagine after watching the review, if I rewatched this movie, the politics would be a lot more.

I did notice what they did with the Malkovich character. It was like they wrote him from a CNN based stereotype without having ever met an actual Trump supporter. The part that I found odd at the time (just like the reviewer) was how often the advice he offered turned out to be good, and how, in the aftermath, everyone just ignored that fact.

6. I watched it the other night

Even though I can deal with unbelievable SciFi I thought the premise of living with blindfolds on didn't work very well.

The driving by GPS scenes were downright stupid.

The blindfolded interracial couple aspect was all too predictable.
