Well, maybe this will catch on where the pussy hat failed

Now who in the world is going to use this on an email??

The world is finally getting the period emoji we really need https://t.co/Vw85yfOCWU— HuffPost UK Lifestyle (@HuffPostUKLife) February 6, 2019

As I pointed out elsewhere, back in my younger days there was a supposed movement to burn your bras. Not that anyone really ever did. Too uncomfortable. Especially running. But maybe if we had a nifty little cartoon of a bra going up inflames, it might have caught on. Ya think?

Personally if I could chose an emoji to get excited about would be an Equal Rights Act emoji. But that’s just me.

2. My current take is that the ERA is mostly symbolic at this point

When viewed objectively most if not all of the issues are already addressed. It would also trigger significant mischief making including lawsuits. At this point, while I am fine with a symbolic passage, I would like to know what it will actually do.

It will require repassage in both houses and resubmittal to the state to insure that it stands. What other important issues will get sidelined while that happens?

6. Oh, it would be more than symbolic. It would be

law. There will always be men, and plenty of other women, who will continue to treat women unfairly economically and legally. It would be a way to put a halt to that.

I don’t mean codifying pussy hat-type insanity. And I most certainly mean the # metoo crowds type of anti-male, third-trimester abortion, open borders bullshit.

I mean the basics that still seem so easy for so many to ‘overlook’.

I got told one time to train my new boss. And I was also told, even though I never said one fucking word, that I could NEVER have the job because I didn’t have a college degree. But guess who did all the grunt work? Ran the rail car fleet? Handled rail car maintenance andrepairs? And from their desk in Omaha tracked down the equipment that had been swiped or hijacked by railroad companies and other shippers.

And I didn’t even get a raise.

7. I have yet to see a recent issue that the ERA would address that is not covered already elsewhere

Still looking with something with specifics. My point is that much of that is already illegal and already should not be happening

College degrees as a requirement can be questionable, but as part of the medical world, I can't really argue too much against that. Also the ERA will not address that.

5. More utter nonsense

The hat and this emoji are right on par with the 'hands up, don't shoot' lies.

8. From The Article In The Link:

"... Break down the silence, stigma and taboos surrounding periods."

Pretty much all of us would agree that silence, stigma and taboos surround periods for good reason.
