4. I am a 1911 gal myself, but in this modern age, went Glock

There is a training facility meme which goes; Any gun will do if you will. Pretty much sums it up.

Hubby and I negotiated a common set of Glock mods and use interchangeable ones today. Nothing wrong with the M&P series. It could have been any modern semi auto handgun, but Glock worked for both of us.

6. I've used Glocks my entire career

(well, briefly carried a S & W a couple of months, the agency was finishing a transition to Glock when I started).

I've found them reliable; it's understandabe that personal tastes vary.

7. Glocks have no soul.

That's the primary reason I carry one.

God forbid, but if I should ever have to shoot someone and my gun ends up in the evidence locker, so what? It's a Glock 19 there are a million more just like it.

I prefer Glock to the M&P line because when I was in the market S&W didn't have anything comparable to a Glock 19 and they still don't have anything comparable to a 26.

In Colorado I'm limited to a 15-round magazine no matter what* so I really don't see any point in carrying a full size gun (Glock 17/M&P9) when I can carry a glock 19 with the same capacity magazine.

Commonality is important to me and I like the fact that I can use a 19 magazine in my 26. The M&P has the same capability but I can buy Glock magazines for between 10 and $12 less than what I would pay for an M&P magazine. That adds up when you buy as many magazines as I do.

I can also purchase aftermarket magazines such as Magpul for 50% less and as far as I know the only people that make aftermarket magazines for the M&P is Mec Gar and they only make the full size magazines.

* I am aware the magazine capacity laws in Colorado are so poorly written as to be unenforceable and I'm also aware that I'm probably the only person in the state who abides by them but I DO abide by them so even though standard capacity Glock 17 magazines and full size M&P magazines and even AR magazines are available I choose not to buy them. Because all it's going to take is to run into the wrong cop once and as they say, "I'll probably beat the rap but I won't beat the ride."
