1. That does not look like Due Process to me

Was the victim notified that he had a petition filed against him?
Did he have a chance to legally defend himself?
Did he have a chance to challenge the judge's findings?
Was he notified before the cops showed up at 5am to deny him his 2nd amendment rights?

Nothing in that article looks like Due Process to me.

What happened in MD was a judge decided to revoke a citizen's constitutional rights based on heresy and used the officers of the government to enforce his will.

3. All preventable had Maryland placed that nutcase in the FBI's nat'l background check database...

"In August, David Katz, a 24-year-old from Baltimore, killed himself after shooting up a gaming tournament in Florida. Katz was someone who legally bought a gun in Maryland and had a history with depression."

....but they refuse to include the mentally ill citing privacy issues. Red flag law will be abused since the penalty is a joke.

4. Nope. DOA.

I see no provision for the "accused" to be notified, appear, defend, or challenge the accusation. No appeal process. No provision for a competency hearing. This is not due process.

5. Due process?

“If approved, a judge has the authority to take someone’s guns away within hours when someone sounds the alarm.

The details would be sorted out in court within a couple of weeks.”

Does this even resemble due process?

Lefty should be careful what it wishes for.

with this precedent in hand, just about any right can be violated now, and sorted out in court in a couple of weeks.
Imagine voting rights being treated thusly.
