stadiums half empty

Oh my.

Weak 12: Three Quarters of the Season Done and Most NFL Stadiums Are Half Empty

With only five more weeks of regular season play, the NFL is still the object of scorn on social media as fans wonder why stadiums from coast to coast have loads of empty seats.

One fan caught an embarrassing image of rows upon rows of empty seats at the New York Jets’ MetLife Stadium, as the New England Patriots came to town to trounce them 27-13:

--after which follows a long line of twits of photographs of stadiums that don't appear to hold sell-out crowds.

And here, I thought one of the members of the lorgnette-and-pearls crowd had assured us last week, that NFL football had regained lost ground.

2. That confirms it.

The Redskins' fanbase is currently the worst of any team in any sport, IMO. They're pathetic. Trust me, there's no political statement being made there. They just flat out suck.

5. As someone said...

some of these "empty" stadiums aren't about making a political statement.

"One fan caught an embarrassing image of rows upon rows of empty seats at the New York Jets’ MetLife Stadium, as the New England Patriots came to town to trounce them 27-13: "

The Jets...they're 3 and 8. For non-football people, that means they won 3 games and lost 8. Also seen in that stadium yesterday were diehard Jets fans with brown paper bags on their heads. I would say that's not team pride there. Probably fans with season tickets and nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon.

So with some teams, it's no real surprise that their stadiums are half empty.

Also, it often depends on when those images are being used as "proof" of a downturn in attendance. Fans could be getting there after the game starts. Or leaving early if their team is losing. Or running off to the bathrooms to beat the halftime crowds.

sigh...

7. Actually..

no, we don't "all know how the players feel now".

And why would you want to spoil things for people who aren't sitting around having hissy fits over such stupid political shit and just want to enjoy watching a sport they like?

"I'm mad...you have to be mad too!"

sigh

8. Yes, we DO all know how the players feel now

Fuck those bunch of ungrateful thugs

Yeah, yeah, I know, there are a few patriotic people in the NFL, but that doesn't excuse the thugs.

I wish they would go bankrupt.

Really. So much anger is not good for anyone.

Little kids are starving and being abused in the US. But wahhhhh...!!!! Some players kneeled during the National Anthem and I'm SO MAD!!!
