Football question.

I don’t like sports with the exception of MMA, so when I go to a Super Bowl party, it is just for the company.

Why do they have the teams divided into two groups who can only play each other during the beginning games? Seems to me they should all be able to play each other, at any time, to truly find a champion. Instead there is two brackets so certain teams will never face each other unless they get to the Super Bowl.

1. Football is too hard on the body to face all 31 other teams in a single season.

2. the nfl merged with the afl and both the nfc and afc conferences were created.

because as posted above, it’s a brutal sport. they do all eventually play each other over the years with during the regular season.
