That most people only know him for one play. But he was one of the greats otherwise Thanks bondo for the post. There was a good tribute to him tonight on espn

His 2,715 base hits is only 6 less than Lou Gehrig and almost 1,200 more than Jackie Robinson, both Hall of Famers.

3. I did see he played for the red sox

And they gave him like a 4 minute standing ovation in 2008. That was a great moment. I’m an astros fan but I love that he got the respect he deserved that day. Everyone should forgive that one horrible moment for what he gave to baseball. RIP
