Girl, 2, hit by foul ball at Astros game suffered skull fracture, attorney says

Thank goodness for the nanny state to save us from baseball games. I mean, who’d have thunk it? A ball being purposely hit into the air might come down in the crowd surrounding the ball field? Oh wait... isn’t that the way ball fans get those fouls that are hit into the stands? But hell, if there’s and attorney, there’s gonna be a demand for money.

And of course the word ‘attorney’ is in the title of the article. Because you know there are no such things as accidental injuries. Or people who think they should be protected from everything or someone has to pay.

Girl, 2, hit by foul ball at Astros game suffered skull fracture, attorney says

A 2-year-old girl who was struck by a foul ball during a Houston Astros home game last month suffered a skull fracture and seizures, an attorney for her family said Wednesday.

Richard Mithoff said he had contacted the Astros to inform them of the injury and to discuss options in the matter, the Houston Chronicle reported.

This just pisses me off. Maybe I’m just jealous because I’ve never found a way to get rich by making someone else pay for what I did voluntarily (or stupidly or criminally).

Like these people sitting by the field with a two-year and in foul ball range. Or maybe it’s because Americans and their sue-happy solution to every problem make me sick. Yeah, Boeing should be sued out of existence. Some ball player or ball club doing what people purchase a ticket to see them do should not.

I had an ex that weaseled 2.4 million dollars out of the Missouri Pacific Railroad for falling down our basement steps while drunk and trying to put our 2 dogs out in the garage. Long and true story. He hit 13 uncarpeted steps in our home and got 2.4 mil for it. He said he fell on a locomotive that had slick steps. Truth was the bum was so damn drunk he could barely stand. I divorced him when he filed the lawsuit.

I’ve been in 3 taxi accidents and I’ve crashed and burned on icy sidewalks and once in the middle of the icy street and really jacked up my wrist (trying to break my fall. I’ve never even considered suing anyone.

I hate the’victim’ mentality that’s taken over this country.

1. Not familiar with the Astro tickets as the last Astros game I went to was in the AstroDome but I

understand most of the tickets to enter a sports venues uniquely shields the ballpark for any injury occurring due to normal sports play.

I've got to think this Astro tickets, that these folks purchased had the same clause.

Sad to see this happen to the kid but "shit happens"...

Exactly.

But you can bet even if there’s a disclaimer on the ticket this ambulance chaser is gonna give it a try.

I have a degree with honors as a Paralegal. I interned for the ACLU. I was in the job market for 4.5 decades. I have yet to see a dirtier, nastier profession than the legal profession.

5. Ballparks should extend the netting.

Safe for fans. Players won't feel the terrible guilt of accidently hurting a child.
