Can Australia's wicked heat wave convince climate change deniers?

http://www.dw.com/en/can-australias-wicked-heat-wave-convince-climate-change-deniers/a-37668523

Thousands of bats fell dead out of the trees as Sydney's parched suburbs reached their hottest temperature on record earlier this month: 47 degrees Celsius (117 degrees Fahrenheit) saw parts of the city receiving the dubious honor of being the hottest place on the planet that day.

That would be considered an unusually hot day, even in the Sahara Desert.

The city's human residents fled to beaches, shops sold out of fans and power cuts hit more than 40,000 homes in southern Australia after the electricity grid struggled to cope with air conditioning demand. A total of 87 fires raged across the state of New South Wales at the heat wave's peak in February.

For Australia, these heat waves are likely to only get worse. Although it is the developed country already most feeling the effects of climate change, heatwaves that are longer, hotter and more frequent are yet to come, according to a 2016 report from the Climate Council.

1. I would be great

if you could show me some science that proves man made climate change.

It would also be great if the science you show doesn't include made up, pulled out of thin air alternative facts. In other words, actual science, not someone's feelings would be really helpful.

3. Problem is you MMGW hoaxers have no proof for your claims.

Hot day in Sydney-so what. Earth overall in the 12th Century was warmer than today and humanity was better off for it. Ya wanna set some ideal temp for Earth (and that would be just what?) figure out how to control the thermostat on the sun and how to regulate those pesky cosmic rays.

5. Wrong.

'Medieval Warm Period' Wasn't Global or Even All That Warm, Study Says

The tenth to thirteenth centuries, when temperatures in Europe were unusually warm, was also a time of relative cold in the western North Atlantic, according to a study published Friday in the journal Science Advances.

The findings further undermine the notion of a global Medieval Warm Period that climate change denialists often hold up to support the false idea that today's global warming is a result of natural, non-manmade causes. It also further debunks the belief that early Norse settlements in Greenland flourished and later folded because of changes in the region's climate.

"The Medieval Warm Period was certainly not a global event and probably didn't even span the entire North Atlantic region," said Nicolás Young, a glacial geologist at Columbia University who was the lead author of the study.

Young and colleagues measured the extent of glaciers, a proxy for temperature, over the last 1,000 years in Western Greenland and further west on Baffin Island. They found that glacial coverage from 950 to 1250, the years of the purported Medieval Warm Period, was only slightly less than during a subsequent cold period known as the Little Ice Age.

10. They don't accept factual evidence anymore

Their partisan worldview is too important to be interrupted by a inconvenient facts therefore they are by definition "fake" news.

They won't know Global Warming until their own house is washed away by rising seas. And they'll still probably be denying even as that happens.

12. Denier The new F word

so with that being said get a fucking grip. No one here with any sort of empirically based thought system denies climate change. they just debunk bad science something you are clearly incapable of doing.

The climate changes, it has been doing that for billions of years. That change is the engine of evolution. What you are your kind want is no change, you want the climate to be exactly as it is or as you think you remember it being during your childhood, and that my dear is called entropy and it is what leads to the end of all life. You may or may not be a wine snob but you most certainly are not a science snob!
