Lack Of Sunspots To Bring Record Cold, Warns NASA Scientist

November 12, 2018

“It could happen in a matter of months,” says Martin Mlynczak of NASA’s Langley Research Center.
________________

“The sun is entering one of the deepest Solar Minima of the Space Age,” wrote Dr Tony Phillips just six weeks ago, on 27 Sep 2018.

Sunspots have been absent for most of 2018 and Earth’s upper atmosphere is responding, says Phillips, editor of spaceweather.com.

Data from NASA’s TIMED satellite show that the thermosphere (the uppermost layer of air around our planet) is cooling and shrinking, literally decreasing the radius of the atmosphere.

To help track the latest developments, Martin Mlynczak of NASA’s Langley Research Center and his colleagues recently introduced the “Thermosphere Climate Index.”

1. Ive been following this for years

It’s not heat we have to worry about, it’s the cold. I wonder if we are heading for a period similar to the little ice age of the 1700’s.

that I can remember in my 45 years of living in Michigan.

8. The heat in the latter half of the 20th century

Is an aberration, I believe. If you look back, at least in my area, it would get very cold here in Alabama. There are pictures of the Tennessee river frozen in Huntsville, al. My pops would speak of the snows they got when he was a kid in the 20’s and 30’s. I know weather is not climate, but reading diaries and personal history, there was certainly a colder trend in the past. None of that is scientific though.

November is cold here today and tomorrow, but our weather is never really regular. We can have all four seasons in a day.

As to the sunspots, those are good indicators of climate. Fewer sunspots mean colder weather. There is precedent for that.

something to do with heat on this planet.
Maybe AlGore needs to leave his energy hog mansion, get in his gas guzzling private limo, and have his driver take him to his fuel sucking private jet so he can fly up there and fix it for us.

10. Who said it doesn't?

But if the sun gives off less thermal radiation and the earth still has higher temperatures, there must be something holding that the thermal energy in the system.

Whatever could it be?

13. Don't have to.

The earth is retaining thermal energy.

What happens when a system doesn't reject as much thermal energy as it receives?

14. Yes, you have to

If you say the earth is getting hotter, you must know how hot it was before.

15. Kj of thermal energy can tell you.

You see, if a glass of water 100 Kj of thermal energy and I add 100 Kj of energy to it I know it's hotter. Temperature is just a factor in the equations. Usually it's the change in temperature you record.
Which will be reflected by the amount of thermal energy added or rejected.
Since you can't measure the temperature of a large thermodynamic system that exchanges energy constantly, you measure thermal energy retention and rejection to determine this.
It is reflected in temperature readings in various places.
That's your stumbling block.
You can't get around that.

It was just last week.

That's one way.

U know, the paper you didn't read that you a aid I was lying about.

21. In the oceans...

By scientists

With instruments.

Go back and read the fucking paper.
The one you said I was lying about.
Then tell me where they used the temperature to measure the o2 and co2 absorbtion rates to determine the amount of thermal energy being retained in the ocean.

Just because you don't understand it, doesn't mean it doesn't work.

That's your stumbling block.
You don't read anything. Then you post links that contradict what you said.

Like your "hydrogen leaking" thread. You post a link that says it takes thousands of years after saying leakage is a problem.
You don't correct yourself either, you just move on to the next thing you don't know and refuse to learn.

It's hilarious.

Because nobody knows the temperature of the earth.

30. Well, you seem to have no problem taking the word of "scientists" that deceived you with outrageous

claims of projected warming, which proved to be bogus. That didn't click with you.

And, you had no difficulty believing these same "scientists'" mad scramble to come up with excuses for their ridiculous projections that did not come to pass. Nothing clicked then.

Nothing clickes when they concoct crazy theories based on bad science. You just take their word.

When I explained how woefully inaccurate NOAA weather station data is, that didn't click.

When I revealed to you how NOAA's own studies of their stations have shown many are badly designed, giving faulty data, nothing clicked.

When I told you NOAA uses mainly volunteers to man those stations, nothing clicked.

When I highlighted how the math using whole numbers to derive useless fractions is used by your "scientists," nothing clicked.

When I brought to light a degree is not a unit of heat, yet these "scientists" try to sell global warming based on them, nothing clicked.

The fact that the government issues grants only to "scientists" who support the hoax of global warming didn't click with you.

So maybe you should start listening to voices of reason, instead?

31. I look at everything on a case by case basis.

You already have your mind made up and refuse to look at evidence against your bias.

Have you even read that paper yet?
The one you said I was lying about?

No.

So pretty much everything you say about thermal energy or "units of heat" is invalid.

Plus you admitted that you accept science that you think proves your point and reject what doesn't.
So. . Ya.. not much more to say than that.

You don't even look at the evidence.

So don't pretend you aren't biased.

More afraid of what you might learn.

You have to much invested in being wrong about this branch of science that you simply cannot accept the facts.
