Major Trump administration climate report says damage is intensifying across the country

https://www.washingtonpost.com/energy-environment/2018/11/23/major-trump-administration-climate-report-says-damages-are-intensifying-across-country/?utm_term=.16500f1f1c01&wpisrc=nl_most&wpmm=1

"The federal government on Friday released a long-awaited report with an unmistakable message: The effects of climate change, including deadly wildfires, increasingly debilitating hurricanes and heat waves, are already battering the United States, and the danger of more such catastrophes is worsening.

The report’s authors, who represent numerous federal agencies, say they are more certain than ever that climate change poses a severe threat to Americans' health and pocketbooks, as well as to the country’s infrastructure and natural resources. And while it avoids policy recommendations, the report’s sense of urgency and alarm stands in stark contrast to the lack of any apparent plan from President Trump to tackle the problems, which, according to the government he runs, are increasingly dire.

The congressionally mandated document — the first of its kind issued during the Trump administration — details how climate-fueled disasters and other types of worrisome changes are becoming more commonplace throughout the country and how much worse they could become in the absence of efforts to combat global warming."

You can read the actual report here - https://nca2018.globalchange.gov/

2. I may have to change my retirement goals.

I was shooting to triple my carbon footprint by the time I retire. I may scale that goal back to just doubling it.

5. The US is way ahead of our goals in cutting emissions,

India and China are still the biggest polluters and didn't have to anything under the Paris Agreement.
Also, there hasn't been an increase in storms or anything else outside of historical variations.
As for warming, changes in climate have cycles like everything else.

20. 2015 per capita carbon dioxide emissions from fuel combustion (metric tons)

total ....... per capita

1 China ....... 6.59
2 United States ..... 15.53
3 India ...... 1.58
4 Russia ...... 10.19

Add to this the fact that a big part of China's emissions derive from all the plastic junk they manufacture for American consumption. When exported jobs we exported the carbon burn too.

6. Deadly wildfires in California may be due more to mismanagement of the forests ...

than climate change (the winter term for global warming).

Climate change may prove to be a convenient excuse for Democrat politicians in California who simply had their heads right up their butts.

Trump was right: California’s forests have been grossly mismanaged

8. The excess fuel on the forest floor that cause these fires to be so intent to 40 years to accumulate

That has not got a damn thing to do with glo bull warming and everything to do with left wing eco-terrorists who decimated the logging industry in the west coast forests 40 years ago.

It is political hogwash that this was caused by climate change or global warming. These lies are being told by the cali liberals so that they can find some deniability for the destruction and death that they are directly responsible for.

The liberal eco-terrorists caused this to happen by destroying the logging industry and inhibiting proper scientific forest management in our national forests creating the situation where the fuel on the forest floor is so massive that the fires can not be controlled, contained, or extinguished until they have done extensive damage and caused human death.

This is not what I read, not what someone told me, this is what I witnessed with my own eyes. My family heritage is logging and ranching. We roamed those forests logging and "ahorseback" on large national forest cattle leases. I was alive and aware of the spotted owl hoax that shut down a hundred lumber mills putting tens of thousands of workers in the unemployment lines. I specifically remember these eco-terrorists spiking trees, driving large metal spikes in the trees, causing the saw blades in the mills to come apart at high speed killing the sawyers.

I along with many others were there. We remember.

Decades ago there were books and papers written and published by well educated, MS in forest management, professional foresters predicting the fires like the Camp Fire, and the Carr Fire and how they would destroy property and take lives. All of this was happening 40 years ago and now after all of their predictions exactly came true the liberal politicians, some of whom were involved with the eco-terrorists bacl then, are telling lies and blaming Trump, creating political cover for themselves now.

If they had balls, ethics or any a conscious at all they would stand up and admit what they have done. We all know that will never happen.

These fires were not caused by global warming or climate change or what ever they will call it next year. These fires were caused by liberal Eco-Terrorists who used outright lies to kill the logging industry, to destroy the income of fifty thousand families, and more recently kill well over 80 people.

10. The California liberals deserve a lot of blame for the fires that decimated parts of ...

their state.

Of course these liberals are elected by the people in the large urban areas of the state who have little understanding of the environment and the factors that influence it. These liberals will never admit they were wrong but will double down on pushing global warming fears. Unfortunately that will have a negative impact on families like yours.

12. It is hard to find something appropriate to use as a description of the suffering those families ...

have been through. The sad part is that they will not even get an apology from the liberals in California who will tell the families that it is all Trump’s fault.

15. You are correct, this is one of those "before and after" events

We will now address time as before or after the fire.

7. Yup - I sorta gather that,

From the recent hurricane in the Gulf, to the raging fires in CA,

there's definitely an upward trend in ferocity . . . .

We need to pay more attention to momma nature . . . . .

9. Or in the case of the fires let people manage such things as they did in the past

so they fires won't be so intense

19. actually there isn't,

the hurricane isn't that unusual.
As for the wild fires, it has more to do with mismanagement of the forests (emotion by uneducated hippies instead of science, plus underfunding by CA.)

13. If violent weather is an indication of global warming

Then we are experiencing global cooling

The fires have NOTHING to do with global warming

14. To quote the venerable Instapundit,

"I'll start believing man-made climate change is a crisis when those screaming the loudest adjust their lifestyles as if it is a crisis."

As long as John Kerry and Leo DeCaprio keep their luxury yachts; Al Gore keeps his 5000 square foot house and multiple Hollywood types keep jetting around in their G5 planes they can go suck a dead dog's farts.

16. Gee. What a surprise.

A report produced by a cabal of useless federal swamp rats whose agency/department/job relies upon climate change being a problem. What are the odds they'd produce a report that says global warming is a hoax and there is no problem and the taxpayers should fire all these people and shut down entire departments because they are nothing but a waste of money?
