And right now we can't see 2 feet out the back window due to lake effect snows.

4. It is Damn Cold

And I am one who usually doesn't let it bother him, we have our cows in the barn with the heat on and all of our critters are being kept out of the weather.

2. An obvious existential threat.

Look at those poor people suffering, and wandering around in a daze knowing humans will be extinct in their lifetime.

6. Only costs $3.59/gal for gas, nearly 10% sales tax, nearly highest sales tax in counrty

A HUGE % of people in So. Cal cannot afford to be within driving distance (5 miles -- any longer will be an hour), much less walking distance of the picture.

So nice place for the very, very few who can afford it.

I am a refugee from my homeland -- born, raised and lived for over 5 decades in So. Cal. I eventually got tired of subsidizing the sloth of many and being told -- to my face and via policy -- that hard work just means that the State is owed more of my most precious commodity: my time.

I miss it and visit once or twice a year. Every time I go there it gets worse, the comparison to Calcutta is closer, the gas prices higher and the commute times between "close" locations longer.

Note: I paid $1.78 for gas 2 days ago here in the DFW area. I live 8 miles from work and get here via freeway in 8 minutes.
