I'd say SpaceX screwed the pooch

Leaked footage of that "anomaly" that occurred during the static test of the crewed Dragon capsule.

1. Rather have the screw up here than out in space.

2. No doubt

But this definitely sets the timetable back for a 1st manned launch.

4. Sure does and that is probably not a bad thing either

NASA lost Grissom, White, and Chaffee in Apollo 1 showing just how dangerous space exploration can be. SpaceX has been enjoying a number of successes and this may just be the thing to refocus the seriousness of what they are attempting.

One thing I am not a fan of is the secrecy of the event. The longer they stall with an explanation the worse I think it gets for them.

6. Grissom, White, and Chaffee were the victims of NASA ignoramouses who thought

they could fill a capsule with pure oxygen in an environment with electricity present

Even the astronauts should have known better

7. Wont disagree but it made NASA take a hard look at themselves

This is my hope for SpaceX as well.

5. If you play it at 1/4 speed it looks like the explosion was IN the crew capsule rather than

in the fuel tanks or rocket motors.

Scary.
