7. Awesome!

Channel 6 - also known as the "Super Bowl" channel because of the (illegal) high power used there!

Once talked to a guy in Indiana barefoot with a Cobra 148 GTL SSB from here in Erie.

This was during a sporadic E opening.

14. Been hearing Washington DC, Cocoa Beach Fl, Okeechobee Fl

and others, like they were next door for days... they've faded away now.

Must be some 1100 miles or so...

3. I miss my shortwave

Picked up an old tube type Philco for $1 at a yard sale years ago.
Got pretty entertaining around the full moon.
Had a wind up Grundig, it worked well but not as entertaining.
Ended up giving it to an old guy I befriended that was living out in Canyon Diablo, Arizona.
He needed it a lot more than I did.

9. You can get really good sw recievers

on ebay for dirt cheap.

Maybe not the finest, but more than adequate for casual listening.
