1. They were just talking about this on our local fox station and apparently it is a FCC

requirement for broadcast stations to interrupt programming when there's is a tornado "warning" in their viewing area.

2. This is really ancient history, almost back to Roman times, but anyway

there was an instance where a network--NBC, if I remember correctly--was broadcasting some professional football game, but as the clock reached the time for the next regularly-scheduled show--"Heidi," I think it was--they cut off the game and went there.

Having seen 58 minutes of a football game--nearly the whole game--the viewers bitched about missing a measly two minutes of it.

Geezuz gawd, it was just professional football; it wasn't like it was real football, college football.

5. Yep, the Heidi Bowl....

I didn't see that...

In fact, I never did get to see the entire Heidi movie.

Seems like every time we were watching it on TV (back late 50s/early 60s) something would happen. Our house would blow a fuse and dad didn't have any spares, so he had to go buy some. Another year the old tube TV crapped out when a tube died. No Heidi that year either.

As a football fan, I think I would be pretty pissed if a big game got interrupted by something else in the final minutes, especially if the score was tied or something. I guess it would be pretty ironic if, while watching, say...the Superbowl, it got interrupted by the Heidi movie I never got to see.
