1. The issue H2 fans avoid discussing is the amount of electricity required to generate and store H2...

...that is used in those fuel cells. Unless all the electricity used comes from pollution free sources, your H2 fuel cell powered vehicles is not pollution free.

15. Never made it

Many people here are on to you Roflguy, you're entire job in life is to waste other people's time

Sorry you can't understand the thinking behind hydrogen and renewable energy.

Many other Americans can't either, so you aren't alone.

Have fun!

16. Here is just one small example, there are many more

“Basically the running costs are zero, because solar is free,” says Antti Pohjola, CEO of Solar Water Solutions, the Finland-based startup that makes the technology.

7. Reading comprehension problem?

Apparently so

~50 kWh per Kilogram stated repeatedly

Can you understand what is going on here?

LA TIMES 2017: California invested heavily in solar power. Now there's so much that other states are sometimes paid to take it

On 14 days during March, Arizona utilities got a gift from California: free solar power.

Well, actually better than free. California produced so much solar power on those days that it paid Arizona to take excess electricity its residents weren’t using to avoid overloading its own power lines.

It happened on eight days in January and nine in February as well. All told, those transactions helped save Arizona electricity customers millions of dollars this year, though grid operators declined to say exactly how much. And California also has paid other states to take power... https://www.latimes.com/projects/la-fi-electricity-solar/

****************************

QUESTION: Do you think (...) that, in the future, there is going to be MORE excess renewable energy OR LESS excess renewable energy?

Japan's target price for H2 in 2050 is ~$2.22 per Kilogram. That would mean a hydrogen car would only cost around $11.00 to fill and would move the 4,000 pound vehicle and 4 adults >300 miles

https://www.meti.go.jp/english/press/2017/pdf/1226_003a.pdf

REPEAT: Japan's target price for H2 in 2050 is ~$2.22 per Kilogram.

If you need help with converting yen to dollars and Nm3 to Kg just ask

17. As an electrical contractor who installs grid-connected solar systems

I'd say YOU are the one that is ignorant of how the grid works.

Not only that but how inverters work.

(you can get up off the floor now)

Oh, and I have yet to install one for free. They charge me for the stuff too.

(now quick, get a book and quote a definition)

20. I know that it's not a unit of heat.

You do too now.
You're welcome.

I wouldn't let you install my solar garden LEDS and all you have to do is pull the plastic tab off the battery to complete the circuit and stick them in the ground.

Did you find that definition again? Look up Watt Density while you are at it. Then try to say the two are unrelated.

I make my living using watts. You know about watts from a book.

23. You always say you make your living doing whatever it is you are arguing about.

I don't believe you for a second.

If you made your living "using watts" you would have known what they are a unit of.

How many watts of heat are in a liter of water at 4 degrees celcius?

10. Too late for the US to make fuel cells affordably

but China is mass producing them now

I've already turned down a job in the industry but I'll have one soon because its booming worldwide.

With any luck, it won't be in the Usury States of America

Maybe in Aberdeen, working on that now

21. ''Too late for the US to make fuel cells affordably''...yep, damn that Nixon for creating OSHA & EPA

standards that all US based companies have to spend big $$$$ complying with while companies in China don't have any environment/safety/EEOC/labor unions/etc standards stuff to worry about and all the slave/child labor they need. Kid gets his leg cut off in a factory, no big deal...other kids are waiting in line for his job. It's always comical the ignorance of China worshipers who bitch about how the US needs more regulations to clean up the Earth while totally ignoring the realities of #1 polluter China.
