Climate Change Denier, Patrick Michaels, also member of tobacco front science group

Wow! I was just being snarky but our good little Climate Change Denier, in addition to taking bags of money from the fossil fuel industry, actually also sells his PhD to scientifically justify the effects of tobacco smoking! Just wow!

1. Tobacco front science group, and anti-smoking nazis

Two sides of the same coin.

5. What has scientific evidence to do with interfering with legitimate free will?

6. It is a group of scientists fronting for the tobacco industry, not politicians

Your argument reflects many Climate Denier arguments. That is avoiding the science by focusing on social solutions. One may or may not support certain solutions but that has nothing to do with the science.

8. Versus a bunch of moral preeners that can't stand the legitimate choices of others.

Your argument reflects many Freedom Denier arguments. That is avoiding the fact that your nose is neither needed nor wanted interfering in the legitimate free choice of others, by focusing on science.

One may or may not support certain solutions but that doesn't make it their place to be pushy self-righteous jagoffs.

9. Again, the science is what matters, not your perceptions of what you call

“moral preeners.” How many who felt smoking was perfectly safe because industry-funded pimps lied about the science for their 30 pieces of silver died of lung cancer? How many will die from the lies of Climate Change Deniers collecting their bags of money from places like the Heartland Institute?

The laws of physics don’t give a shit about human social constructs. And neither does increasing CO2 combined with carbon forcing.

10. Wrong. Freedom of choice is what matters. If it is so when it comes to killing babies in womb

It is surely so for killing ones own cells with tobacco or alcohol or marijuana or junk food or fast food , and so on.

Hows that for science, clown?

11. Not very good but oh so typical of the Right

Oh wait! Look over there!! It’s Planned Parenthood!!!

As long as individuals make choices from information, not from the lies of pimps like Michaels, and as long as their choices only impact them, I’m fine with it. In principle I even don’t have a problem with the government not paying for those choices.

Both smoking and denying Climate Change do have measurable impacts on others.

However, as I have consistently noted the science is one thing and the proposed solutions are another. To lie about the science because one doesn’t like the solutions is completely dishonest.

12. "Both smoking and denying Climate Change do have measurable impacts on others"

This is an untrue statement. Smoking has NO measurable impact on others.

Smoking AROUND others may have a measurable impact on others, but smoking, and smoking around others are two different things, and you don't get to argue from the false pretense that they aren't.

That you'd try, undercuts all your puffery about science.

13. You are getting desperate now

One can always tell when you begin the name calling and when you parse the semantics to the level of absurdity. Clearly if one locks oneself in a room and smokes, one is not impacting others. However, as you know, this has not been historically the case.

14. You're the one getting desperate.

"One can always tell when you begin the name calling"

I didn't call you any names.

"and when you parse the semantics to the level of absurdity."

YOU are the one that said smoking has "measurable impacts on others"

Defend that statement as written or shut your dumb pie hole.

"Clearly if one locks oneself in a room and smokes, one is not impacting others."

Then by definition your statement as you wrote it, is incorrect.

Lecture us some more about science why don't you.

"However, as you know, this has not been historically the case."

Decide which case you want to argue and let us all know, wont you?

2. Fred Singer is another one

There was a lot of cross pollination between the tobacco deniers and climate change deniers. Propaganda skills are fungible. Money talks.

7. I guess if one doesn't mind using a PhD to justify killing people with tobacco use

They won’t mind doing the same by denying CC.
