Panasonic RF-2200 Nearly Causes Stroke

Got an email from Fedex saying my professionally restored 70's classic am/fm/shortwave had been "delivered to front porch".

It wasn't there!

24 hours later, my nice neighbor brought it over, it was left at his house.

My blood pressure is slowly returning to normal....

1. Man, that is so brutal.

I can agree with that feeling though. Get the notification that it is delivered, not be home to received it, and get home and no box. That sinking feeling sucks in so many ways.

Nice neighbor and glad it ended well for you! We were at an antique store yesterday and there was an old 40's type receiver (radio) in one of the vendor areas. I should have taken a picture of it and sent it to ya.
You'd have liked it.

As it was I scored an old (60's) book on the Civil War, a Bloodletters and Badmen book (my great uncle was a G-man and he is in the book in the Dillinger section), The sound track from Paint Your Wagon and a record by Vaughan Meader and Rich Little (Spoof on first families).

It was a good day!

2. Sounds like a great time!

I was in a bad way for the last 24 hours!

Great score for you at the antique store!

Check this out - bidding started at like $49 - and it needs restoration!

3. Dang!

I'd take that on as a project if I was inclined to. But it is going for a pretty big price right now.

It is sweet looking. It is a tube thing for sure..... Nothing better than a glowing radio, if you ask me.

6. I have a Zenith MJ 1035

With the extra speaker.

Early stereo 12 tubes.

It has a Wavemagnet on the back, and is an absolute dx beast.

Tube 12 is a phono preamp.

A.M. sounds like F.M. on this thing.

4. How many radios do you have? Cool hobby

When I was young, I had a cheap Realistic shortwave and then upgraded to a Sangean..I always wanted the FRG-7 and then ended up winning a FRG-7700...
