I found that problem-fix the hard way. Truck was running like shit. I did everything mentioned in that thread. I just knew it had to be a fuel/air/ignition problem. I started checking/replacing everything that is related to air/fuel/ignition but found nothing. All signals to the computer were normal. The coolant temperature at the gauge was normal but the OBD scan tool told me the coolant Temp was hot even though the truck was only running for a few minutes.

I finally pulled up the wiring diagram and found another sensor. I replaced that and it was like a new engine. The biggest surprise was that the AC started blowing cold again. Many mechanics don't realize that there are two sensors.

Apparently, when that sensor fails, it fails in an open state which tells the computer that the engine is warm/hot.

That sensor is now the first thing I check when friends are having engine problems.
