1. Grumman S-2 Tracker
"50's era ASW (Anti Submarine Warfare) platform that served with the Navy until the mid 70's. Replaced by the S-3 Viking. Carried torpedo's, depth charges, or mines. Was exported to a lot of our allies over the years and is still in use in South America.

2. That there's a Grumman S-2.
Once an anti-submarine plane. The last one I saw in the 80s was used for COD or Carrier Onboard Delivery. Mail and airplane parts. What a freaking racket those radial engines made!

I've heard B-17s and a C-123 at the airshow. Belching fire and smoke at startup! ![]() |

5. When they were checking the props was cool
They could make it sound like a Buzz Saw then reverse the pitch and make it sound like Paddles slapping the Air, Whap-Whap-Whap!
I was a young Airman Deuce but stuff like that was why I chose Naval Air Made you think of the Olden Days ![]() |
