1. Do you remember the old quadraphonic 8 tracks? Very rare.

I had a Panasonic AM FM Quadraphonic 8 track topped with a turntable.

It would play regular stereo 8 tracks as well. Lost it in a house fire.

Still have a Borg Warner (Ford) under dash 8 track and a bunch of tapes.

3. Memories

Meatloaf Bat out of Hell was my first 8 track I bought with money I earned myself way back when.

I don’t think it was quadraphonic, I would not remember if it was lol. I also learned that summer Columbia House 10 8 tracks for some small change could end up costing a lot more when they kept sending you more tapes lol.

6. I remember

the record/tape clubs!

The old "bait and switch" technique...

Loved Meat Loaf as well!

Jethro Tull sounded great on 8-track.

7. I can remember when we got our 1st new car, a 1978 Buick Regal

My dad made the dealer take out the cassette player and put in an 8-Track. He was convinced cassettes were a stupid flash in the pan technology. When I started driving I got one of those adapters that looked like an 8-Track but you put a cassette into it.

And I still think 8 tracks sound better.
