It's not me, 40 meters DOES suck!

All the action is on 80 meters right now.

Heard some guys in Florida and the Carolinas discussing hurricane prep, and saying "hopefully 40 meters will settle down eventually.

On my Tecsun PL-880, 40 meters has very high levels of static, sounds like white noise level.

Can make out strong signals on SSB, but the weak ones are unintelligible.

1. I could see that. Looking at a multiband antenna for our place.

Hubby passed his general. We are setting up a shack based around an Icom IC-7300. We are still temporary in this place so the antenna will be something like this

At the new house we will put in a tower and maybe a 2m repeater with DMR.

2. Sounds great!

Great antenna, and you can't beat ICOM, they are simply top of the line.

I spend most of my tx time on 2 meters. You get to know the people near you with similar interests.

Then, when they piss you off, you can talk to people in Australia instead!

Hope you guys have a wonderful time on the air!
