but I had a Teacher who kept a sign on her desk:

"None of us is as smart as all of us"

So I have a feeling someone here can answer us as to what this is

3. I don't get any alerts.

Why are you using Norton?

5. Norton works IMO

It's a resource hog, that's why people hate it. I run high end machines with tons of ram and processor so it's never bothered me.

I tried McAfee for 3 months once and hated the damn thing, and AVG I know people who have used the free version and gotten bugs. You get what you pay for

7. I use MSE

Works great and it doesn't bog the processor down. Plus it's free. Norton and McAfee both suck.

4. I just got the same warning

Last night I was getting it on my ISP's homepage, now here. I'm thinking there's something in one of the ad's causing the alert, as long as it's getting blocked I'm not worrying about it.

6. Mines being blocked too

That's a good thing

I just want those who have different protection to be aware

8. Not only could it be from an ad on this site, it could also be from link in a post, to a dodgy site.

If it were just Norton, it could be a false positive, although having another virus program find it, would lower those odds quite a bit.
Also the source could be from any infected site visited and gets triggered by time or a computer event to, make it harder to pinpoint where you got it.

Norton and McAfee are both resource hogs. There are several other anti-virus programs out there, that are just as good and cheaper, or even free. Things keep changing all the time. Google is your friend here.

Although not an anti-virus program, Ghostery stops those ads from loading in the first place.

You can also modify your Host file to stop questionable and known infected sites.
Start here: http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm

I also use the paid version of Malwarebytes.

I haven't seen ads in many years and very seldom pick up anything I don't want.
I haven't see any alerts lately.

10. Not seeing anything, so it must be in an ad?

AdBlock Edge...... just sayin'

or AdBlock Plus for the Chromium-based browsers, since I think Edge is strictly Firefox based.

13. Just in the last two or three days,

when I'm logged into DI on my phone, every time I exit a thread and return to a forum, Chrome locks up and quits. Only happens on my phone, not my PC. I use AVG on my phone, but get no warnings. It only happens on DI.
