For the geeks out there custom built at my shop, I7 processor, 2GB graphic card and 2 GB SSD hard drive with a 1GB backup......this thing can do the Kessel Run faster than the Millenium Falcon
Oh, and I remembered my password here

1. KeePass is a nice program.

I've gotten to the point where I have to "have an app for that" too.

Way too many damned passwords in my life. Both at home and at work.....

3. I can relate too....

...now where did put that damned book??

I'm a test bed manager and we have keepass at every suite of equipment now because we cannot remember the hundreds of passwords. It's beyond out of control.

Now I use it at home for the ever increasing list there too!

Happy new computer!

I'm just about ready to build out my home network lab rack. Just waiting for one more switch to arrive and rack mount and I'm ready for my new playground.

4. I only really have 2 passwords I use

Both my 1st and 2nd girlfriends names, just a matter of which site I used who on

I have decided I hate the keyboard I'm using on it, going back to the one on my old machine.

6. Every one of my passwords is on my 20-year-old Sharp Zaurus 5700 and on a PCMCIA Type2 flash...

... card which I backup to monthly and download from, to any of my spare Zaurus'. I have several spares, spare cards and spare wall plug power supplies which plug into a Zaurus power port when needed to provide the extra power for getting the non-volatile flash card memory devices to do their stuff. The Zaurus uses 2 AA batteries for doing everything, and a button battery for maintaining the volatile memory while changing AA batteries. If I lose a Zaurus (never yet have) I figure the technology is so old, no one would know how to crack it or obtain the parts necessary to try to fish data out.

When I travel, I take my everyday Zaurus and a duplicate which I backup before leaving home. The Zaurus also has an infrared port to transfer individual files from one Zaurus to another while I travel, if both have the same password. THAT password I memorize.

The idea to sending all my passwords to "the cloud" juuust doesn't quite feel right...

7. Learned my lesson quite a while ago on password programs.

Ignoring the obvious problem of multiple devices,

I got a message one day that said that they were doing an upgrade and that afterwards they would import my passwords. I'll let you guess what happened next.

Back to my trusty rolodex. That I keep in my safe when not in use. I keep the safe locked except when I need it. What good is a fire safe if it's open when the house burns?

Anyway... looking at an HP tablet. They just released a new one, I7 with the new screen tech. No stylus yet so I'm holding off.

And yes, the Surface isn't even a consideration.

12. I just don't like the angle on the new one

I'll give it a couple days. It's a extra Dell I had from another machine I owned, still in the box stuck in a closet for a few years.

I need to run to Staples next weekend anyway, need a new printer.....
