5. I won't quibble. PEW states: "See where you are in the distribution of Americans by income tier"...
… so their heading "middle class" was their shorthand, correct or not, for income tier."...

6. I'm slap dab in the middle
You have to make 115k a year to be considered upper in my area....I'm about 25k off of that....BUT, it doesn't take into account any assets....and I am land rich, but money poor..
