Federal employees "scrambling" to make ends meet, sniffle, boo hoo

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/side-hustles-and-family-loans-help-federal-workers-weather-the-shutdown/ar-BBRoR3l?ocid=chromentp

Such as a NASA egghead working "paycheck to paycheck"

Quote: .......telescope specialist brought down the American flag that normally flies outside his Maryland home.

“I still have pride in my country, but I am very disappointed in Congress. My only way to quietly object is to take down the American flag,” said Amatucci, who lives paycheck to paycheck helping support his wife and three grown children. E/Q

The only reason a NASA egghead scientist should be living "paycheck to paycheck" is if they are overextended and living in the stratosphere of the middle class or the lower reaches of the upper class, theres no reason someone who makes that type of money should be living "paycheck to paycheck" unless they cant budget, which makes sense seeing as over half of NASA's projects fail at launch, at deployment, or at re entry.

IOW, I dont believe the sniffle fest this story is trying to create.

Quote: Outside of Washington, some families are facing a government shutdown double whammy. Erin Kidwell and her husband in Mt. Hood, Ore., both work for the U.S. Forest Service. During the last government shutdown, they were renting and had only one child. Now they have two kids and a mortgage and are both furloughed. E/Q

Fuck them. Maybe they should have gotten REAL jobs in the private sector where they dont have to be a living leeche on the taxpayers money, with cadillac benefits and so much time off, paid time off, they hardly notice a "government shutdown" until the "news" tells them they're supposed to be worried.

Peices of shit. They always get back pay, they always go back to work, they always act as if the world is over because they are on a paid vacation.

Fuck them. They can go to the soup kitchen if they are hungry. I have, it's a valuable lesson to learn.

Federal employees feel they are above things like that, they miss one paycheck and thier worlds are turned upside down.

Fuck them, this is what they get for being parasites, rather than productive citizens.

Fuck them. I hope it stays shut down so long they take on jobs at McDonald's and stay there long enough to become managers.

1. The only one I know who is sniveling is (poor me), our Grifter in Chief ...

Nobody will come talk to him about his slats we are now on the hook for as taxpayers, & Melania refuses his advances. Here read this:

Daily Kos.

https://m.dailykos.com/stories/1821428

I am all alone (poor me) in the White House waiting for the Democrats to come back and make a deal on desperately needed Border Security. At some point the Democrats not wanting to make a deal will cost our Country more money than the Border Wall we are all talking about. Crazy.

Then he decided to crash the stock market with his deep thoughts on decision-making via the gut, tossed in a quick denial that he would ever lash out at anyone, swung back to lie about his wall again, and then on to thanking Saudi Arabia for his decision on Syria that prompted his defense secretary to resign, and finally, a pity-party and a lie in one fell swoop.

Ho, ho, holy crap, he’s nuts.

2. So what? As the impurities evaporate away what is left is a better product

Since everyone else is leaving I figure I'll write a letter and see if I can get hired on as any type of help the President could use, I could care less what the majority of the American people think of Trump, they are nothing but national socialists and need cleansed from this country.

7. "Then he decided to crash the stock market"

I think the election of democrats recently has more to do with that than Trump

4. WTF is he doing "supporting three grown children?"

What kind of losers did he raise that he needs to support them all once they're grown? Shouldn't they get jobs and support themselves?

5. You do not know the Feds that I do

Most Feds do not make all that much money. The "egghead" and people like myself are exceptions. Many that I know are often the only regularly employed adult in their household. The shutdown is going to start pinching them shortly. It will also start impacting the people they serve. That will start this week.

This is not the attitude I had before I moved here. SPAWARS in San Diego taking a few days off did not threaten peoples homes and lives. Here it will in a week or so.

The good news is the locals are coming together. They are treating it like they did the Obama shutdown and sequestration, helping each other out. A very nice thing to see.

We will get through it fine. Others I know will be hurting.

6. I've worked for the federal government for more than 30 years.

One of the first things I did was save the equivalent of three months pay, a little at a time. I knew, for certain, that there would be "government shutdowns," and was trained to plan ahead. The same thing applies to those that count on overtime as a part of their budget. The other thing is that I've never lost a dime due to a shutdown. It's always been paid back retroactively. It's not that I don't feel for anyone in a bind. But only planning ahead for a week without pay is not a good idea.

8. Those that I am speaking of are often living paycheck to paycheck

Mostly because they may be the only employed person in an extended family. There is a lot of that here. Yes it gets paid back, but until it does, it is going to be hard for some. Like I said, the community is coming together to help. This is a unique place and that will not work everywhere

The other thing is the loss of services provided. A lot of people are dependent on Government funded services. That difficulty will start today. Most medical services will be maintained. We filled a lot of prescriptions a little early recently, just for that reason.
