China imports zero U.S. soybeans in November for first time since trade war started

Here it is folks. Trump has singlehandedly destroyed the entire US soybean commodity market. China has new suppliers so it’s not coming back.

Reuters:
China's soybean imports from the US plunged to zero in November, marking the first time since the trade war between the world's two largest economies started that China, the world's largest soybean buyer, has imported no U.S. supplies.

1. On the other hand China caved and dropped tarrifs on 700 US products

as for soy, we can always find new markets.

5. Oh, really?

U.S. exports will get the benefit of the reductions as well, although most products will still be subject to the retaliatory tariffs until there is a breakthrough in the ongoing talks.

With tariffs on U.S. soybeans stopping a key source of edible meal (often used for animal feed), China will implement zero tariffs on imports of a variety of meals including sunflower and canola.

Some materials for pharmaceutical manufacturing will also be subject to zero tariffs, and taxes on high-tech imports will be set "relatively low," including at 1 per cent for a type of generator for aircraft, and 5 per cent for a type of welding robots used in car assembly lines.

Imports from nations that have reached a trade pact with China will be levied at the rates agreed by both sides. China’s bilateral deals with New Zealand, Peru, Costa Rica, Switzerland, Iceland, South Korea, Australia, Georgia already included promises to further lower tariffs in 2019, as does the Asia-Pacific Trade Agreement.

2. The "trade war" started DECADES ago, and China was given a head start.

And they've been fucking us royally from the very day they were granted that head start which was nothing more than a product of White Guilt.

4. Soybeans are considered a 'poverty' food in China.

Soy sauce and byproducts are considered legitimate uses but rarely do people there eat the soy patties and tofu.

The USA has made whole billion dollar industries from byproducts of soy and corn.

I don't consider soy real food and constantly avoid it. By reading labels I've learned that it's crept into most processed food. It's filler, it's fodder. It's gross.

6. So why did China merchants buy soybeans from us in the first place?

Price, perhaps?

Think maybe the 25% tariff on US soybeans China just tagged on has an impact on the market?

We finally have a president who is willing to stand up for the American people. The game ain't over sweetie. China has begun to back off on some of their predatory trade practices as the war rages on.

The end result will surely benefit us as we have been victims of China's bad will for so long now.

If you don't stand up against a bully on the school playground, you will keep getting your azz kicked. Trump has the will to fight for us.
