This is an environmentalist cause I believe in, I'd go to a rally in support of it's solution

The mid pacific plastic patch is a disgusting mass of marine life killer and eventually us, the reason I put it in health.

1. Yep...and you'd think enviro-lefties would be outraged at those dumping the trash into the ocean...

...and yet nothing, must be cause their TDS is so strong.

9. This has outraged people long before Trump.

Do you care that oceans are being filled with plastics? Should our a Republican Congress and President take action?

2. Would you support a ban of single-use plastics?

Here’s what I don’t understand. The poop bags I use for my dog are biodegradable. It’s not as if the technology doesn’t exist. We’re already at the point where fish are eating tiny particles and passing them on to us. That plastic patch is a real disgrace.

3. Poop bags for dogs. NO, let them out on a hundred acres and let them poop.

If they go in the wrong spot pick it up with a shovel and toss it over the side of the mountain.

Mother nature takes care of dog, cow, pig, deer, bear, and all the other animal poop here.

Civilization is fun to visit but I do not want to live there.

8. We have a scooper for the yard.

We only have 3.5 acres. We just pick it up and toss it in the woods. Unfortunately though, walks involve our neighbors properties and they don’t appreciate the natural approach I’m sure.

11. Same here...

22 years of dog poo from a total of seven dogs (not all at the same time) tossed off into the woods.

Dog walks here consist of up and down our very long driveway since the road is very steep and has hazardous gullies on both sides.

We get some real good tree and shrub growth in the dog poo disposal areas. Then out back by the deer feeder, the grass is always lush and green from about a ton of deer dookie over the winter and spring.

Yay! Poo!

4. Yes, any plastic that is not bio degradable should be done away with

As much as everyone laughed at the plastic straw ban I am sure this has something to do with it, whales and marine life guts are full of them.

7. I agree with you.

It seems to me that if there is one thing everyone should be able to agree on it’s protecting our food and water supplies. There’s even a company now making “styrofoam” from mushrooms.

But doing something about the plastic problem would impact the oil and gas industries. I believe they’ve purchased enough members of Congress to prevent any significant legislation from passing. *This* is the kind of thing that really makes me detest lobbying.

12. Yep...

I try to repurpose plastic stuff.

We don't use plastic straws at home, but I'm considering getting some reusable silicone ones for using away from home.

5. The DR should have some help

That's not all their waste fouling the beaches. It must come from all around the Caribbean basin. Clean up will take a joint effort.

10. I suspect

Despite denials, that a lot is dumped off the countless cruise ships that ply the area.
