Insulin crises.

It’s not like insulin is a new drug, Congress should act to allow generics into the marketplace ASAP.

1. What's stopping Pelosi from getting that passed in the House?

2. There isn't a single insulin drug

There are hundreds. Some are natural, some are synthetic. I know, my wife has been taking insulin shots daily for over 50 years. She takes a relatively new genetically engineered insulin, that works well for her.

One of the ladies she works with at work, is insulin resistant, and takes another type of insulin that contains 4 times as much insulin per unit than my wife's. They aren't interchangeable.

Congress does not have the expertise to get involved in thus. One size does not fit all. Just like the god-damn CFPB which was just about to come out with rules for what kind of mortgages would be allowed.

3. Status quo is the issue

And the government regulates the insulin market. Some states are taking action, but I still believe we need to get the generics involved to move the needle.

4. Two have come to the market in the last few months.

A few manufacturers have exploited a loophole in the approval process to make what is in essence a generic equivalent of Humalog. At $150 a box it is dirt cheap in comparison to the $600+ the name brand goes for.

5. If we were smart enough to have universal health care, this wouldn't happen.
